Does trimming the hooves help improve the way they walk?

Horse leg health experts highlight the importance of showing horse owners and hoof care professionals exactly what the problem is with a horse’s foot and what you hope to achieve with treatment that he uses for his maintenance.

Something as simple as the use of a ruler, one of those popular tools, the transparent ones at school, would be enough to achieve hither precision. They help us to look a little more objectively at the hooves instead of just with the eyes and the brain.

Experts never leave home without a ruler, at least when they are working on paws (or legs) and helping owners, veterinarians and blacksmiths to see and understand what goes on inside them and recognize if they are balanced and, if not, how to get there.

Always remember that improper treatment of the hooves in the cattle, including horses, is among the major reasons that cause the premature loss of an animal. Here at Victorian Hoof Care Services we’ll be happy to assist you.

Reach the correct proportion

Experts measure each foot, take photos and drawings of feet shown in book or seminar presentations to illustrate balance, evidence of his passion for equine hoof health.

The general industry guideline for hoof balance is approximately 50:50 (toe: heel), which means that the middle of the foot is facing a perpendicular line dropped from the center of rotation of the P2 bone (pastern short), with the other half being behind this same line.

This ratio would be reasonable in most cases, if it was practiced by the majority of hoof care professionals. However, most don’t seem to be using this guide, as most feet are roughly 60:40 or even 70:30. Most people don’t measure it, they just rely on observations.

Helmet cut to improve structure and function

Experts research studies, farriers, and trimmers from the US and other countries, particularly Australia and Sweden. An expert compares his findings on cadaver limbs with what he sees on live clients’ horses, their X-rays, photographs and the like, and tries to help owners understand what the interior looks like in different situations. Most of the cases experts have to deals with are extreme, because he usually takes calls after all traditional treatment options have been exhausted.

These cases generally involve periodic lameness in both anterior feet that has persisted for many months and even years, with radiographic changes in the navicular apparatus, experts explain. Horses have been handled using corrective shoeing methods, with pads or trimming with boots, etc., during this time, as things are going backwards. Each horse generally has one thing in common: an overly long toe and a heel under the toe. He believes that this scenario can be avoided with careful and correct trimming.

Helmet cut to improve structure and function

Experts explain that the mechanical forces of 60:40 and 70:30 ratios put pressure on the coffin joint, eventually leading to navicular disease. Everyone knows this and understands some of the biomechanical problems with this type of foot, but few try to aggressively correct the problem. Many foot professionals say that such feet are not fixable, or only manageable. With this “long heel under heel” foot, the long toe continues to lengthen. We mean, the royal coffin bone begins to lengthen: its conformation is gradually changing.

As the coffin bone lengthens, the vasculature under it must change at the expense of the back of the foot and the frog; Basically, the enlarged toe area demands more blood supply from the foot, moving it away from the back of the hoof, which he claims is detrimental to the hoof and your overall long-term health.

Of all these rearing practices, the low, long-toed heel is probably the worst that will lead to navicular and will definitely make any bout of laminitis worse. With a long toe, low heel, the tissues that support and surround the coffin bone are compromised and the distal (lower) end of the coffin bone receives less and less support and becomes thinner and thinner throughout from the edges, especially the lateral from the midline) on the side of the foot. These changes will often result in pedal osteitis; many people have heard of this problem.

When there is an outbreak of laminitis (and pressure is added to the toe through some rotation in the toe, the bone cannot support the horse’s weight with this peripheral thinning of the bone, and the coffin bone it is crushed.

We are setting the horse for failure by having a long toe with our trimming methods, regardless of whether the horse is shod or barefoot.

Experts’ method trims to shorten the toe and promote caudal migration (towards the rear) of the heels to bring the central groove (the cleft between the heels) back to the sole of the foot to make light contact with the ground. Cutting these goals can improve foot health and bring the ratio closer to 40: 60, allowing the back of the foot to enlarge and regain its robust health.

Our (industry standard) trim is such that very few people trim within the white line, and not only does the hoof wall lengthen, the coffin bone lengthens, this reshaping changes the’ conformation ‘ of the bone and its bone density. We think we can correct that, but it will take time and effort.

It is best in these cases to carry out a thorough review of the circumstances that lead to injuries to the legs of dairy cows. In general, this type of injury is related to trauma or due to the special physiology of the legs of an individual. There are three main injuries that can affect the extremities of cows, especially in the hoof area: heel hyperplasia, putrefaction and erosion.

For early identification of hoof lesions, it is important to note that not all cows examined will need a hoof trimming, as excessive trimming can lead to a higher incidence of lameness.

Remember that improper treatment of the hooves in the cattle is among the major reasons that cause the premature loss of an animal. Here at Victorian Hoof Care Services we’ll be happy to assist you.

The 3 signs that you have to change the brakes today and not tomorrow

2010 Ford Mustang: The 2010 Mustang GT promises a more-dynamic driving experience thanks to chassis improvements pioneered on Ford Racing programs and the popular Mustang Bullitt line. Adjustments were made to the springs, stabilizer bars and shocks to better balance the ride, steering and handling for all models.

All the safety systems that our car incorporates are important, but if there is one that is really decisive in avoiding an accident and especially when it is imminent, it is the braking system. Brakes are the main safety system in any vehicle and it is also the oldest, as you would expect.

Avoiding colliding with another vehicle, not hitting a pedestrian or not leaving the road will largely depend on whether we can stop safely in time. The skill of the driver at this time is essential, but if it is not accompanied by an optimal functioning of the braking system, the maneuver can end in failure and, also, in a possible misfortune.

Here at Alpha Mechanics we help you keep your car working at full potential for the longest time possible and saving you all hassle and trouble from having to take your vehicle to the mechanic.

If your car sounds this weird, bad. These are the symptoms that may indicate.

A basic knowledge of the operation of this system will help us to interpret possible signs of failure and also to become aware of the importance of maintenance. And it is that despite the fact that 97% of drivers believe that brakes are the most important safety system in their car, only 13.5% of Spanish drivers would know how to detect if their brake system has a problem according to a Roadhouse study.

Basic operation of brakes

Mechanical, hydraulic and electronic systems make up the operation of the brakes. The driver operates the system through a pedal, this force that he exerts is amplified by a brake booster that acts on a pressure pump. By means of a system of pipes and hydraulic cylinders, the brake pads or the shoes in the case of drum brakes are actuated.

Pads or shoes stop the rotors by friction, which can be in the form of discs or drums, which rotate in solidarity with the wheel, causing it to stop. The configuration is very different in case of being a disk or a drum. Disc brakes have, as their name suggests, a disc-shaped rotor that is pressed by a caliper that incorporates the pads. The drums, on the other hand, are something like a hollow wheel inside which the shoes are hidden, which come to be the pads of disc brakes, but instead of pressing on the outside, they friction the internal walls of the hollow wheel. This type of brakes can suffer major problems of overheating and loss of braking power and that is why they have been discontinued. They are currently used in very small or low-cost cars, but only on the rear wheels.

Aided by electronic systems such as ABS that prevents the wheels from locking, braking effectiveness is optimized and the driver can control the vehicle in the event of emergency braking.

The development of aid and assistance to the driver in this system has evolved a lot in recent years. Toyota incorporates the Toyota Safety Sense which, among other systems, has a Pre-collision Safety System, which if it detects the possibility of a collision, in addition to alerting the driver, activates the braking assistance. If the driver does not brake in time, the brakes are activated automatically to avoid or mitigate the collision.

Custom makes us overlook things

Once we have a basic idea of how the brakes work, we move on to the possible signals that the system sends us when they are in bad condition. It is important to know the car and how its brakes work, since each vehicle is different and everything may go perfectly and it may not seem so to us.

Many defects in this system, or even possible serious breakdowns, are overlooked by many drivers because they gradually adapt to an abnormal operation.

Many drivers do not perceive the wear as they get used to the touch of the pedal

One of the first sensations we have when we use another car is the change in the feel of the pedals. The hardness of the clutch or brake pedals is usually different from what we are used to in our car and it is possible that we even notice that the braking is more or less effective than usual.

Due to wear, the brakes gradually lose effectiveness and the driver adapts to these changes. As time goes by, the braking distance increases, the pedal becomes spongier, and until another person does not drive our car and tells us: how bad your car brakes! We do not realize that we have to take it to the workshop to check the brakes.

  1. We can be guided by some reactions or sensations

The brakes are of vital importance, it has already been commented although it does not hurt to remember it. They are absolutely essential and a system in poor condition is, most likely, the cause of an accident. It may not be now, and it may not be later, but it will happen. Thus, therefore, we are going to list some symptoms that must be taken into account.

  1. Spongy brake pedal

Although as we said at the beginning, the driver gets used to the touch of the pedal, there comes a time when it becomes excessively spongy. The cause can be found in badly deteriorated brake fluid, leaks in the brake circuit, air in the same circuit or a defect in the brake master cylinder or cylinder.

Brake fluid is essential in the operation of the system as it transmits pressure. This liquid is not compressed, but it is hygroscopic, that is, it absorbs moisture. The vapor bubbles are compressed, thereby acting as a cushion within the circuit and producing that sensation on the pedal.

Manufacturers recommend replacing this liquid every 2 or 4 years, something that is unknown by many drivers and ignored by others, since that feeling of insecurity is not perceived as it happens with other elements.

  1. Noise and vibrations

Vibrations can be due to different reasons: abnormal tire wear, wheel bearings, steering alignment; But when they are due to the braking system, they can be due to a deformation of the brake discs or to pads with irregular wear.

The wear of the brake discs, like that of other elements, depends a lot on the way each driver drives and the maintenance that is given to the vehicle. For example, not changing bad pads in time and continuing to drive with them can lead to abnormal wear on the brake disc and lead to a worse breakdown.

Here at Alpha Mobile Mechanics you are also part of the team, so we explain every detail related to the process and keep you aware of the way we complete this process. Divide and conquer

As mentioned above, effective planning is the key to an effective renovation. If you are renovating, then you need to focus on both the biggest and the smallest. You may have heard the phrase “everything is greater than the sum of its parts”, you can apply the same strategy to your home renovation project and design a renovation plan for each area. If you hire a specialist for renovation, he will assess your requirements and then renew them. In this case, since you yourself will be in charge, we recommend that you brainstorm about the adjustments that the house needs in the company of your family, and thus together decide what arrangements are to be made and in what order they should be made.

Budget

Since you want to renovate your home without spending a lot of money, it is important that you decide what the total spending limits are.

Investigation

You will be amazed at how many options you have once you start your research. The beautiful lamp that you liked in a high-end store can be bought at a lower price from elsewhere. So, take advantage of online shopping and thrift stores.

Doors create the first impression

The first impression of your house is your door. If you can’t completely replace the door and if your current door is in good condition, you can repaint it.

Paint affects lighting

Paint affects the lighting and when renovating your home you can opt for a new paint. In that case, if you already have a budget, shopping for different color palettes may seem counterintuitive. If you are on a budget then go for a black and white palette, it will give your home a modern and sophisticated look and you are guaranteed that you can never go wrong with black or white.

Small rooms don’t have to look small

If you are renovating to make a small house appear larger, you can achieve that goal by using mirrors.

Kitchens and Storage

If you are renovating your house it is because you surely want to clear and maximize its storage as well. Using your kitchen to its fullest capacity can help you minimize storage problems. To do this on a low budget, you can use DIY kitchen cabinets, recycled material storage, or take advantage of thrift stores.

If you already have cabinets that are sufficient for storage, then you don’t need to replace them, you can just repaint them to make your kitchen look like new.

The light comes through the windows

According to Marc Appleton, “half the experience of living indoors is seeing the outdoors.” So, when remodeling your home, install large windows. However, you may not have the budget to change your windows, in that case, play with paint and paint your windows a shade lighter than the rest of the room to maximize the light coming through them.

Bathroom renovation

You would be surprised by the amount of cheap and quality products you can buy to renovate your bathroom. A coat of paint or a change in tiles can make a big difference.

Renovation of the flat

If you have a limited budget, our recommendation is to use your apartment as a reference for other improvements, since renovating the apartment can be very expensive.

The key to renovating or redecorating your home beautifully and inexpensively is to come up with a goal, draw a complete picture of what you want, and then renovate each part of your home step by step.

If you have a little more budget, let your imagination run wild by changing some spaces in your house. You can change the kitchen floor or decorate your walls with vinyl, a very creative and inexpensive way to personalize your home.

Be creative! If you make your own shelves and place them on the walls of your bedroom or bathroom, then use deformed fruit boxes to your liking and hang them on the wall. You can also paint them in colors to give an even more cheerful touch to your bedroom.

Fill your walls with memories! You can build your own memory board. What better way to always keep in mind the special moments than creating a unique space that helps you keep them close all the time!

Decorate, build or renovate your home in a simple way

For those who would like to have the house as they want (according to their personal style), but do not know where to start, we have many things to tell you.

We can take advantage of this quarantine to try, play, assemble and disassemble with what we have at home and add some new objects. Rethinking each space, each corner of our houses to give it a new look. They can do this by distributing things in another way that they already have, thinking about what they can eliminate, what they can change the environment and what they can buy to accompany these changes.

The idea is to contribute ideas so that everyone feels more comfortable and at ease in their home, which today is also a workplace in many cases.

We leave you 5 tips to renovate and set your home:

  1. Before buying, let’s try moving the furniture around: in another location it has a completely different personality!
  2. Let’s add plants to all environments, they fill the place with life.
  3. Mirrors are the ideal object, because in addition to decorating they serve to illuminate darker environments.
  4. The house is prettier when it feels vivid: add photos and travel memories to your surroundings.
  5. An easy way to assemble a mosaic of pictures to decorate a wall: you replicate the measurement of each one on newspaper, and you assemble the sketch on the wall by gluing it with masking tape.

Remember that here at LA Webb Construction you will find skilled professionals who are proud members of the Western Australia Master Builders Association and dedicated to building luxury kitchens in Perth.

How going on a trip together will help you and your partner

Do you want to know if your relationship is going to be forever? This is not a new advice, but it is wise:trip together go ahead and travel with your partner to have the definitive proof of true love.

Here’s a secret. If you’re not an ideal travel companion, that’s fine. There is no rule that says you must travel with your partner, although if you are like most people, you surely have in your plans to enjoy a romantic vacation with your loved one.

But the point of traveling with your partner for the first time is not to ensure that you are or is the perfect travel companion, but rather to give yourself the opportunity to get to know each other in a wide range of situations.

It is not so much about the journey itself but about discovering who they are and how they act in certain situations that only occur when you are 24/7 with the other outside of your comfort zone.

Traveling with your partner will bring out some of your best and worst qualities, as will your partner’s, and there’s no better testing ground than a long road trip, a delayed flight, or a language barrier.

We offer accessible prices for Barrington Tops Nest, it’s time to enjoy your time away with the ones you love the most!

Traveling with someone will teach you a lot of patience

Patience is definitely a skill that can be developed and honed, but it doesn’t come naturally to all of us.

However, traveling requires a lot of patience if you want to have a pleasant trip. Not only will long sections of transportation need to be addressed, but most of the time they will experience delays and cancellations.

How does your partner react in these situations?

If he or she wails and complains incessantly … well, we hate to tell you it’s going to be a long journey (and a long life!) Of course, don’t resist the first sign of impatience. Some elements of the trip are inherently stressful, and your partner is only human.

Give them the freedom and acceptance to vent their frustrations, since surely you want to do it too. This is perfectly normal. But if you start to see a pattern of excessive whining, consider a gentle reminder that life is short and some circumstances are out of your control. A self-conscious partner committed to being a better person will likely try to moderate some of this behavior… if only for your good.

You deal with the unknown

In general, a short road trip in your home country is not a huge leap out of your comfort zone, but it may be necessary to travel to another country, especially if one or both of you are first-time travelers.

First of all, what an adventure! If you can embark on an international trip with your partner, this is a rare and beautiful gem. This is also a great opportunity to see how you deal with the unknown.

How open-minded is your partner?

Will they dare to jump from a parachute like you? Will you try to use some foreign phrases with the locals? Is it easy for you to adapt to another place?

It’s great if you’re on the same page from the start, but a more adventurous and daring companion can also help lift a shy soul out of its shell.

Similarly, a more reserved partner might keep the most reckless in check. It’s about balance. You may feel encouraged to try many different things, but when it comes to dealing with stressful situations such as:

  • Some theft (as has already happened to us)
  • Scammers
  • Canceled flights
  • Long waits at the airport
  • Some tour that did not go as expected

You should be a witness of growth in your partner, no matter how small

Traveling is a GREAT way to grow, and together you can see each other become better people. This is how it should be anyway.

Travel should bring out the best in you at least 85% of the time. (That’s our own made-up statistic, for the record.)

Temperaments show their ugly and beautiful faces

Is your boyfriend or girlfriend an extrovert or an introvert?

By traveling with your partner you are about to discover how he behaves in the last test of true love. These differences in temperament can provide a wonderful balance between partners, and can be the basis for saying that opposites attract.

Extraversion and introversion are not merely about how social a person is, although that may be part of it. Rather, they are concerned with how an individual gains or loses energy.

Travel and adventure require significant energy production. As you explore New York in the summer with your partner, for example, this busy and colorful city can seem to both invigorate one and exhaust the other.

Introverts are often affected by sensory overload and can begin to feel overwhelmed by hordes of people, noises, and activity. Most extroverts, however, will seem increasingly enthusiastic as the day progresses, seemingly electrified by the crowd, the smells, and the stares.

These examples are somewhat extreme (most people fall somewhere between these two polarities) but they do paint a vivid picture. Without talking about how they feel at each destination and learning to respect the other’s needs, they could have a strained argument.

Until the journey separates them … or unites them

Discussions, fights, bad faces, selective deafness, ghostly company among other things, will be presented during a long trip as a couple, but that is what it is about, showing the true personality.

You may think that this will not happen with you, but in moments of pressure or decision during the trip, perhaps even reactions from you that you did not expect will come out.

But enough! Not everything is so bad, the great thing about traveling with your partner is that, if you manage to solve and tolerate your mutual company, your relationship will be strengthened a lot, assured!

Although just in case you do not forget to read all the things you should not do when traveling as a couple.

It is a quick learning, and we know that from our own experience.

Book a visit today and come enjoy peaceful days in our Barrington Tops cabins designed according to the best architecture trends for natural spaces. Contact us now, we are ready to assist you. We offer accessible prices for Barrington Tops Nest, it’s time to enjoy your time away with the ones you love the most!

What you really need to know about a wine barrel to rent

Today it is unthinkable to conceive of the existence of high-end wines without the benefits provided by oak barrels. Here at Wine Barrels Australia you can rent wine barrels that will serve as tables or just for decoration ang increase visual appeal. You will find a great variety.

Wine barrels

Wood and wine have been great allies since ancient times, although, initially, this was limited to being only the material from which the storage and transport containers were made. Today, it is unthinkable to conceive the existence of high-end wines without the benefits provided by oak barrels.

Some historians place the beginnings of this union hundreds of years before Christ, at a time when Armenian wine was transported to Babylon in palm wood barrels. Other more precise data place it in 800 AD, at the time when Charlemagne was Emperor of the West, when the use of wood to contain wine and transport it from one place to another had already become widespread.

What is a wine barrel?

A wine barrel is a container used for aging wines. In its origins the barrels were used only for the storage and transport of this drink. Due to their shape and size, they were useful for the marketing of wine because it was easy to roll them, and between two people they could transport large volumes without major complications.

However, it did not take long for winemakers and winemakers to notice the benefits that the wood contributed to the noble drink from the exchange of flavors and aromas that took place inside the barrel. That milestone marked the beginning of wood aging.

What types of wine barrels exist?

Like oenology, cooperage has also been refined over time. In general terms, there are two types of wine barrels that are the most used around the world:

French oak barrels: They add more finesse to the wines, soft aromas and flavors and pronounced notes of vanilla.

American oak barrels: They are made of a harder and less porous wood, perfect for varieties that require very little oxygenation during aging.

Currently, the forests from which the wood comes for the production of the best barrels are identified. The highest quality oak is born in the Tronçais forest, in the Allier department, which has 10,600 hectares of oak trees that are only exploited when they reach 80 years of age. The oldest trees in this forest were planted during the reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715) to supply the French navy. Today, its wood occupies the highest position for the production of quality barrels.

Why is wine stored in barrels?

The wine is stored in oak barrels for different reasons that are detailed below:

It is a hard and aromatic wood, with essences that combine perfectly with the characteristics of this drink.

Oak brings its own tannins to the wine and is responsible for adding a little more body and structure.

Aging helps to “clean” the wine, since inside the barrels the solids are naturally separated from the liquid.

The exchange of compounds between the wood and the wine gives it roundness (balance, harmony between its components) and modifies the characteristics that are perceived in the tactile sensation, flavor and aromas of the drink.

How long can wine last in a barrel?

The wine can be aged in a barrel for as long as the winemaker or winemaker wishes. The maximum time that a high-end wine usually spends in the barrel before being bottled is two years.

How much storage capacity does a wine barrel have?

The wine barrels available on the market have different storage capacities: 190 liters, 225 liters, 250 liters, 300 liters, 400 liters, 500 liters and 650 liters respectively.

However, the most commonly used “standard” barrels are 225-liter Bordeaux barrels.

How much does a wine barrel weigh?

An empty 225-liter Bordeaux barrel usually weighs around 55 kilograms.

How much does a French oak barrel cost?

French oak barrels are more expensive than American oak barrels, since while ten barrels can be made from one cubic meter of American oak, in the case of French oak the number of barrels that can be made with the same amount of wood drops to six.

In Europe, the average purchase price of a new 225-liter French oak barrel is 650 euros.

What does the barrel adds to wine?

The traces of oak in wine are many and can be appreciated with all the senses:

  • View: The tonality of the wine is darkened by the contribution of tannins and other compounds typical of oak.
  • Taste: If the wood was not very toasted previously, the wine will have a more pronounced sweetness and will improve its structure and volume.
  • Smell: The oak tends to diminish the more vegetal notes and highlight the aromas of toast, vanilla and coffee.
  • Touch: The passage through wood gives the wine roundness, body and structure.

Undoubtedly, this noble and primitive material is one of the main allies of the great wines of the world.

How long does a barrel last?

In the world of wine, barrels have a useful life of between 8 and 10 years, and can be used for aging wines several times in a row.

In the case of high-end wines, the barrels are not used more than once.

Second and third use barrels provide less tannin and yield fewer components to the wines, and their action on the drink is not as pronounced in texture, colors, flavors and aromas as it happens with first use barrels.

This is a last resource included in the decoration but is still not habitual and that must dialogue with the group in a very precise way. It is not easy to make a good match between the furniture, that’s why you have to study everything in the space well. 7 Must-do when relocating your office!

7 Must-do when relocating your office!

One scenario that any office manager will inevitably hate is the logistical nightmare of relocating to another facility. Whether you’re a growing business running out of space or looking to move to cheaper accommodation, making sure everything goes smoothly when the big day rolls around is just as stressful for a company as it is in personal life.

And between packing boxes and fixing issues like moving our communications and services, it gets people thinking about another critical – and often overlooked – factor to consider when moving offices. Specifically, how can we be sure that our digital data is safe in the process?

Check out our services here at Commercial Relocation and make sure you are able to move to your new office properly.

  1. Making sure your data is safe

An office move is a great time for data to get corrupted, lost, or end up in the wrong hands. Whether it’s from careless workers dropping or breaking hard drives, or hardware just disappearing, there are several risks that need to be considered when planning a relocation.

  1. Protect your hardware

Damage to data storage hardware is a common problem, and some types of equipment will be more vulnerable than others to things like physical impacts, changes in temperature or humidity. But regardless of whether you are transporting PC hard drives, servers or magnetic tapes, careful packaging and handling is essential if you want to avoid having to go to a data recovery specialist to recover lost information.

Before embarking on a relocation, you should also check your equipment for potential problems. For example, you should check that your hard drives are not making unusual noises or having error indicators such as warning lights. These signs can indicate that a device is beginning to degrade, and therefore will be more fragile and vulnerable to shocks and scrapes.

  1. Maintain the custody chain

When data storage devices are passed from one person to another during the moving process there is a great opportunity for items to be lost or stolen. To minimise the risk of this happening, it is important to maintain a clear chain of custody during the process so that it is easy to identify who is responsible for the data at any given time.

The best way to do this is to ensure that each item is sealed after being packed securely. This seal should be checked for tampering at each stage of the move, and broken only when the storage device is safe in the new location. In the rare event of a data leak, the person in charge of the move will be able to provide clear answers about what happened – something that can be vital for insurance or regulatory purposes.

  1. Document everything

Similarly, it’s important that everything is documented – and we mean everything, down to which cables connect where. Especially if we are moving large servers with complex cabling, any changes in their build when they were installed in the old office could cause problems later.

Every PC, hard drive, USB stick, and network management hardware should be clearly labeled, and any changes noted. Ideally, there should be a physical copy of these records, in addition to a digital one.

  1. Don’t bypass physical security

It is also vital that you do not bypass the physical security of your facilities – old and new – when making a move. We know all too well how chaotic this stage can be for companies, with people moving in and out of offices at all hours while trying to move with as little disruption as possible. The result of this is that any opportunist could take advantage to enter and take equipment.

That is why it is vital that physical security policies are not neglected during the moving process. It can be tempting to just leave the doors open to allow workers to easily get in and out, but if you have hardware with sensitive data stored in plain sight, this could be very expensive.

  1. Know the recovery processes

In the unfortunate event that something goes wrong and your hardware ends up damaged or lost, it is important to be prepared for this eventuality. To start with, you need to make sure that your backup and disaster recovery plans are up to date and have been recently tested. If you wait until you have a problem to find weaknesses in them, it will be too late.

Strategic planning for an office or corporate relocation can make the difference between a costly relocation due to downtime and a smooth transition with few lost hours of work.

If you are planning to move your office or relocate your business, the following tips can help you get the move done on time and within budget.

Plan your office move as soon as possible. Business relocations are often planned six months in advance, and large office moves can take up to a year of planning.

Keep all of these things in mind and you can have, if not a totally stress-free move, then one where you can rest easy and have the certainty that your most important data will still be there when you remove the bubble wrap on your new home.

Hire a professional company specialising in office removals

You can make a relocation on your own, and with proper planning, it could probably all work out just fine. The problem, however, is experience. Long distance relocation companies have done this work many times before you. In fact, some do it once or twice a week, so they already know what problems to anticipate and can help you plan accordingly.

Hiring a removal company is a lot cheaper than you might think, especially when you consider the amount of time you save and the hassle you avoid when you hire a professional.

Consider hiring an office removal company that has the experience and tools to make your move as convenient and easy as possible. A moving company can help you move anywhere and they also have the right staff and warehousing services to help you make the move.

Here at Commercial Relocations, our team is available 24/7 to provide the professional and personal assistance you need throughout the removal process. Remember that the best moving company always uses best practices, professional staff, and state-of-the-art equipment so you can trust that your property is in good hands wherever you go.

Recommendations for the application of insulin: insulin pens and syringes

Recommendations for the application of insulin: insulin pens and syringes

Proper insulin administration technique is critical for optimal diabetes control.

The 4mm needles are long enough to pierce the skin and reach the subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT), with little risk of intramuscular (IM) injection. Therefore, they are considered the safest pen needles for adults and children regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or BMI.

In obese people, the 4mm needle is also the first choice, but a 5mm needle is acceptable. The 4 mm needle should be inserted perpendicular to the skin (90 ° angle to the skin surface), with or without a fold.

Very young children (less than 6 years old) and very thin adults should use 4 mm needles by folding and inserting the needle perpendicularly. The others can be injected with the 4mm needle without making a fold.

The safest syringe needle available for all patients is 6mm in length. However, when using a syringe needle in children (over 6 years old), adolescents, or thin to normal adults (BMI 19-25), injections should always be given in a fold.

Children using a 5mm pen needle should always inject themselves by folding or swapping for 4mm needles. Injecting at a 45 ° angle using a 6mm needle is an acceptable substitute for making a fold. If the arms are used for injections with needles of 6 mm or more, a fold must be made and this requires the injection to be given by another person.

Avoid pushing the needle cone so deep that it marks the skin as this increases the risk of IM injections. Patients with tremors or other conditions that make it impossible to hold a 4mm needle in place may need longer needles.

Find the best equipment for needle-free injections here at Inject Needle Free.

Correct fold for insulin application

A correct fold is made by lifting the skin with the thumb and index finger (possibly adding the middle finger).

The fold should be done smoothly, not squeezing so hard that it may cause bleaching or pain.

The sequence when injected into a fold is as follows:

1) Gently lift a fold;

2) inject the insulin at a 90 ° angle to the surface of the fold;

3) after pressing the injection button (when using a pen), let the needle remain in the skin for a count of 10;

4) withdraw the needle from the skin at the same angle that it was inserted;

5) release the fold; Y

6) Safely dispose of the needle.

Reusing needles

There is an association between needle reuse and LH.

There is also an association between needle reuse and pain or bleeding when injecting.

Needles (pens and syringes) should be used only once as they are no longer sterile after one use.

Many people who use insulin find it a nuisance to carry extra needles when they are away from home. Sometimes they have to pay part or all of the cost for their needles and some people decide that it is not worth buying a new needle for each injection. It also happens that they find reused needle injections not noticeably more painful, as long as they are not overused. But reusing needles is not a good practice.

Safe disposal of needles

Needles should always be disposed of covered and safely to avoid injury to others and should not be disposed of directly in household or public trash.

Proper use of insulin pens: The pen must be flushed prior to insulin delivery to ensure free and unobstructed flow: dial 2 units on the dose selector and press the injection button; At least one drop of insulin should be visible at the tip of the needle. Once the flow is verified, the desired dose can be marked and the insulin injected.

The pens and their cartridges are for one person use only and should never be shared with another. After use, the needles should not be left in the pen and should be discarded immediately. Otherwise, air or other contaminants can get into the cartridge or insulin can leak, which can distort the accuracy of the dose.

Pen needles should only be used once. They are no longer sterile after use.

The injection button should not be touched until the needle has been inserted into the skin and then it should always be pressed vertically (along the axis of the pen), not at an angle.

After you have fully depressed the button, you should slowly count to 10 and then remove the needle from your skin. This is necessary to avoid insulin leakage and to obtain the full dose.

Some people may need to count to more than 10, especially when applying higher doses.

Pressure should be maintained on the button until the needle is completely withdrawn from the body.

To be sure of using them properly, the instruction manual for the specific pen being used should be consulted.

Proper use of syringes

People who use syringes must ensure that the syringe is suitable for the insulin concentration they use. Each syringe has appropriate scale markings for a single insulin concentration, and mismatch of syringes with insulin can result in a severe overdose or underdose.

Fixed needle syringes provide better dose precision and allow mixing of insulins if necessary.

To draw insulin from the vial, air must first be drawn into the syringe at a dose equal to or slightly higher than the insulin dose to be administered. Air is then injected into the vial to facilitate the withdrawal of insulin.

If air bubbles are observed in the syringe, the barrel of the syringe should be tapped slightly to bring them to the surface and then removed by pushing the plunger up.

Unlike pens, when using syringes, it is not necessary to leave the needle under the skin and count to 10 after the plunger is fully depressed.

Syringe needles should be used only once. They are no longer sterile after use.

How to take body temperature in adults

How to take body temperature in adults

It is important that you know how to take a temperature because this helps to identify fever and properly treat diseases. The normal temperature range is 96.8 to 100.4 ° F (36 to 38 ° C). To determine what your temperature is normal, take it when you are well.

Each time the temperature is taken, record it. Record the date, time, and any symptoms you have.

No Touch Thermometer offers a unique solution to this problem. Many No touch thermometers feature a patented switchable dot-circle laser. The circle mode of a built-in laser thermometer creates a 12-point circle that clearly indicates the target area being measured. In laser point-to-point mode alone, it marks the center of the measurement area.

What are the Different Types of Thermometers?

There are several types of thermometers. The following types are recommended for safe use:

  • Multipurpose digital thermometer. This can be used in the mouth (buccal), in the rectum (rectal) or under the arm (axillary). Always label multipurpose digital thermometers. Don’t use the same multipurpose digital thermometer to take temperature in different ways.
  • Temporal artery thermometer. This is placed on the forehead. Collects the heat that comes from the temporal artery, that crosses the forehead.
  • Tympanic thermometer. This type is placed in the ear canal. Registers the heat emanating from the eardrum.

Do not use the following thermometers:

  • Mercury-filled glass thermometers. The glass could break. This is dangerous for your health and the environment.
  • Temperature strips. They are not always accurate and are not currently recommended.

Type of thermometer to use

Axillary measurement is the least reliable method. It should only be used as an assessment tool.

Always remember that:

  • Rectal and temporal artery temperatures may be slightly higher.
  • Tympanic and axillary temperatures may be slightly lower.

General indications

Take your temperature the same way each time you check it. Different methods can provide readings different. The only way to know if your temperature is increasing or decreasing is by using the same method each time.

How to Take Temperature

The steps to take your temperature depend on the method and type of thermometer used. You will receive the result after about 1 minute. Always read the directions provided with the thermometer.

Wash your hands with soap and water before and after taking your temperature. Use a disinfectant to hands if soap and water are not available.

Clean the thermometer with soap and water or rubbing alcohol before and after use.

Use only cool or warm water to wash the thermometer. Do not use hot or cold water. Doing this can cause the thermometer to read incorrectly.

Rectal

Always label the rectal thermometer clearly so it is never used in the mouth.

  1. Put a small amount of Vaseline on the end.
  2. Lie on your side with your knees bent toward your chest.
  3. Turn on the thermometer.
  4. Gently insert the thermometer 1/2 to 1 inch (1.25 to 2.5 cm) into the rectum. Do not put it further inside.
  5. Hold the thermometer in place until the beep is heard.
  6. Gently remove the thermometer. Read the temperature.
  7. Repeat, if necessary.

Orally

Always label the mouth thermometer clearly so that it is only used in the mouth. If you cannot close the

mouth for any reason, do not use a mouth thermometer.

  1. If you recently drank or ate, wait 15 minutes before taking your mouth temperature.
  2. Turn on the thermometer.
  3. Gently place the thermometer under your tongue, toward the back of your mouth.
  4. Hold the thermometer in place until the beep is heard.
  5. Gently remove the thermometer. Read the temperature.
  6. Repeat, if necessary.

Temporal artery

  1. Turn on the thermometer.
  2. Place the flat end of the thermometer firmly in the center of your forehead.
  3. Press and hold the button.
  4. Gently slide the thermometer across your forehead until it reaches the hairline on one side of the

head. In doing so, maintain contact with the skin on your forehead.

  1. When the thermometer reaches the hairline, release the button and remove the thermometer from your head. Read the

temperature.

  1. Repeat, if necessary.

Axillary

  1. Turn on the thermometer.
  2. Make sure your armpit is dry.
  3. Raise your arm and place the end of the thermometer in the center of your armpit.
  4. Lower your arm and hold it firmly closed over the thermometer against your side.
  5. Hold the thermometer in place until the beep is heard.
  6. Remove the thermometer. Read the temperature.
  7. Repeat, if necessary.

Tympanic

Do not use the tympanic method if you have pain, discharge, or a lot of ear wax.

  1. Turn on the thermometer.
  2. Place the thermometer gently but securely into the opening of the ear canal.
  3. Hold the thermometer in place until the beep is heard.
  4. Gently remove the thermometer. Read the temperature.
  5. Repeat, if necessary.

Summary

It is important that you know how to take a temperature because this helps to identify fever and properly treat diseases. The steps to take your temperature depend on the method and type of thermometer used. Always read the indications provided with the thermometer.

Each time the temperature is taken, record it. Record the date, time, and any symptoms you have.

How to take a child’s temperature

Touching your child’s forehead is quick, but not very accurate. Most digital thermometers work quickly and are easy to use.

What type of thermometer is best for my child?

It is best to use a digital thermometer to check your child’s temperature. DO NOT use a mercury thermometer. These thin glass devices filled with silver metal can break and release toxic levels of mercury gases. Indeed, if you have a mercury thermometer at home, you should get rid of it.

What is a normal temperature and what is considered a fever?

A “normal” temperature varies with a child’s age and activity and with the time of day. Generally, a fever is a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) or higher. Fever is usually a sign that the body is fighting an illness or infection. Your child’s temperature, age, and other signs of illness will help your doctor recommend the best treatment for your child.

Acrylic nails

This type of solo manicure is recommended if you have only a few broken ones. The result, however, is quite natural that in the case of porcelain tiles and, in addition, they are less harmful to the natural tile, since they are made with polymer in octopus and a special liquid. However, like the previous ones, they need to be touched up every three weeks approximately.

Gel nails

It is the most advanced technology in the design of one. They are made with oligomers, a material that only hardens with an ultraviolet lamp. It is the least harmful option for your natural health. The greatest inconvenience of gel nails is that they last less time than the previous ones, which can last up to 6 months with the proper care.

The disadvantage with these three types of “artificial” manicure that sell completely natural, so you cannot breathe. For this reason, it is essential to clean and disinfect the nail before leaving the manicure list. When it’s time to put them on, we can go to an aesthetics center and take care of a professional or choose to buy a kit and get some more at home. Usually, these kits include a special tube attachment to catch the two of them with double-face adhesive.

At Angelique Thai Massage & Beauty Spa we understand the importance of having some relaxing time to get rid of all that pressure accumulated in our bodies, for that reason we cater our services according to our clients’ needs.

A guide on medicinal herbs

A guide on medicinal herbs

Herbal remedies are plants used as medicine. People use it to help prevent the cure of a disease. They are used to relieve symptoms, increase energy, relax and lose weight.

How can you know who is taking you and what is useful? This guide can help you choose and use hierarchies safely.

Care must be taken when using medicinal herbs. These are a type of food supplement. No medications. These are some data that you should know about medicinal herbs:

  • They are not regulated like medicines.
  • You do not need to show strict streams before selling.
  • It is possible that it will not work as advertised.
  • Labels do not need approval. They could not show the correct cant of an ingredient.
  • Some medicinal plants may contain ingredients or contaminants not mentioned on the label.

Keep in mind that here at Dr. Willard you will find a selection of excellent products made from entirely natural components that offer a range of real benefits for your body.

Natural does not necessarily mean safe

Many people who use plants to treat a disease are safer than taking a medicine. People have been using plants in folk medicine during scientific years. So, it’s easy to see the attractiveness. Although “natural” when it comes to insurance. Unless otherwise indicated, some hierarchies may interact with other medicaments or be toxic in high doses. Also, they can cause side effects.

These are some examples:

The kava is a tree used for anxiety, insomnia, symptoms of menopause and other malaise. Some student studios that could work for anxiety. But it could also cause severe liver damage. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has issued a warning against its use.

The San Juan hierarchy could work against a mild to moderate depression. However, it can interact with contraceptive pills, antidepressants and other drugs. It can also cause side effects like stomach upset and anxiety.

Yohimbe is a crude used to treat erectile dysfunction. The severity can cause high blood pressure, increase in heart rate, anxiety and other side effects. You can interact with certain medications for depression. Taking it in large doses or for a long time could be dangerous.

Of course, some hierarchies have not been tested and work well for the intended purpose. Many of them are also very safe, but the word “natural” in the words will say how safe they are and what they do.

How to choose and use medicinal herbs safely

Some herbal remedies may make you feel better and help keep it healthy. But you need to be an intelligent consumer. Use these tips to choose herbal remedies.

Pay attention to the correct statements about the product. How can I describe the product? Is it a “miraculous” pill that “disappears” from the grease? Will it work faster than normal care? Is it a secret that provides you with medical attention and insurance companies at any time? Such statements are warning signs. If something is too good to be true, probably not at sea.

Remember that “real life stories” are not scientific problems. Many products are promoted with real life stories. Even if it cites a provider’s veneer, there are no problems that another person could have the same results.

Before trying a product, do it with your supplier. Ask for an opinion. Is the product safe? How likely are they to work? Are there any scratches? Will you interact with other medications? Will it interfere with your treatment?

Only buy products from companies that have a label certification. The companies with these certifications are sure to prove the purity and quality of their products.

  • DO NOT give herbal supplements to children in use if they are over 65 years of age. First with your supplier.
  • DO NOT use herbal remedies without speaking with your provider if you are taking any medicine.
  • NO use them if you are breastfeeding.
  • DO NOT use them if you have surgery.

Always tell your supplier on the herbal remedies you use. It can affect the medications you take, as well as the treatment you receive.

When is it the right time to use them?

To learn how to use them, first of all, the author points out that the expression ‘vegetal drug’ has reference to the plant, the part of the plant that has the therapeutic properties that are sought. In fact, experts indicate that the plant is rarely used entirely. The most common part is that the active ingredient provides the therapeutic virtue. Besides, the different parts of a plant can have different applications.

Experts explain that, as a general rule, it is advisable to use a mixture of plants for the reasons: on the one hand because it reduces the risk of adding to a particular species, and on the other because it allows mitigate the risk that certain plants have secondary effects.

As to how to prepare, experts indicate that the ways to use a medicinal plant are “very diverse” and, in turn, depend on the use to be given (internal or external) and the method of use.

1.- The infusion: Introduce the drug exchanged in an infusion into the container, bring water to the boil and pour it into the container. Allow to infuse for 10 to 15 minutes. Infusion is advisable for women, ores, plants with essential oils, or seeds, for example.

2.- Decoction: Use water to boil and incorporate the changed drug. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it infuse for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the drug and filter. It is recommended for stems, roots or wood.

3.- The maceration: Leave the plant for a certain amount of time in contact with an extraction liquid, usually cold. This is due to the fact that some active principles in the skin can be extracted by infusing water decoction, what we can do to change the cause of the heat. The macerated liquid can be distinguished depending on whether one seeks, for example, alcohol, wine or even water, for example.

To choose the one that best suits us, Millet recommends that the best help a specialist in the field, your doctor or pharmacist, who could advise us on which plant is the worst.

Medicinal plants must not be used for a particular action. After asking the pertinent questions of the patient to understand what diseases they suffer and their specificities, the therapist always start prescribing a basic treatment, the purpose of which is to reinforce the defenses of the organism and stimulate it with the help of adaptogen plants. Also, it is advisable to accompany it with a drain hepatic.

Everything you need to know about dog grooming

Everything you need to know about dog grooming

Caring for your hair should be a priority in terms of health and hygiene. Certain dogs need frequent cutting, but others will thank you for a little cut every now and then. All the information about how to cut it at the edge of it will show you in this article.

For many reasons due to the canine, it is a mystery that he doesn’t know how to act. It is something logical, as we know that certain dog breeds, in spite of having a great amount of hair, do not need to have this hair cut otherwise, it is harmful to them.

Why can’t we cut them by hair? In case it is possible, how can we do it and how often? What care is needed apart from the cut? We give you all the answers to cut through the hair without complications.

Can you cut any dog’s hair?

Even in the warmest times of the year, we want to relieve the high temperatures in our hair with a good cut of hair, which is what we can do for you, depending on the characteristics of your skin and your skin.

There are multiple reasons that, even if it seems otherwise for its voluminous hair, do not need any cut. In these types of cases, there is a need to protect the skin, besides giving warmth to the winter, it protects the canine skin from ultraviolet rays during the hottest season of the year. Decide, it is something indispensable in times with the very black!

The fur coat of an animal is not only useful for the cold, a bell that also protects them from the sun, so it is not necessary to shave all the hairs around, especially the pink hair and a little hair that will fall off unprotected and it may break with the sun or suffer skin rashes by not having a protective cover.

Paws2Clip is a home business where we provide the services of the best dog groomers in Perth in a place that is fully equipped with everything needed for a clean process so your dog will be relaxed and relieve all stress they may have accumulated.

Here, some tennis balls according to the type of ‘melena’ that has the same animal. We are not obliged to follow them, but there would be more, but if you’re not in the exhibition, we don’t have to keep their hair groomed all the time, here are the tenths of the deeds that have been done and how much to shave our animals with the heat:

The first thing you have to do is not all the hairs have the appropriate hair to be groomed.

It is clear that there are reasons that it goes through very high heat in the middle of the city in summer, but its coat is genetically prepared to withstand low temperatures that, evidently, pass through summer.

If you have hair and hair (German shepherd, husky, Alaskan malamute, Belgian shepherd … any hair groomed …) you are already with much (chow-chow, Pomerania, spitz, some golden retriever pupils …) you have to try and cut them by the summer, each hair groomed with a lukewarm machine will weaken them. Therefore, it is not a good idea.

Also, if you choose to shave them, it is important to keep an important capillary (and important means the background and the favor, in favor of the hair) according to the belief that we do not want you to join in the body and the new way because of the cut that ‘moves’ before, because in the end it will accumulate much more for the change, it will be more difficult to quit the nudes and tend to suffer from pietistic problems that will not be properly oxygenated. Whatever is bad, there will be more heat than if it was just because of the cut.

To this type of pearls, what the best sellers would bring to the skin is that they want to keep the skin and bath every several months to eliminate the undercoat and the skin and leave the oxygenated skin.

As it will be fresher, even if it is abundant, they will have good quality hair and also will leave us all the house full of hairs.

Before you do anything, always ask your vet

Some puppies recommend not to cut the hair with a never-ending machine but with stripping, a more laborious technique – and also a more expensive one, of course – which consists of pulling out the mature hair – manually changing it in certain areas (like, outside of the muscles, etc.) to facilitate the shedding of hair, a process that previously had a natural place.

These reasons were pleasant, they were long hours in the field, free air, among bushes and bushes, from here to the hard, to protect themselves, etc. And then it was renewed with more ease, the mature fell and saluted on the surface and the young.

For exhibition shows and canine contests, stripping is mandatory, for other reasons it can be decided. The theory is not painful. And the way to get that hair and the skin is in perfect condition.

Another intermediate option, according to the recommendation of other toys, is to give a conditioner before any cut of hair to achieve part of this change of hair.

Remember that the best way to avoid that we lose enough heat is that we don’t just have large mice under the sun in the morning, that we have a cool place to sit, water to drink, wet blankets, their tummy, etc… With fresh water, do not leave it in the car in places without ventilation … let us, in the common sense, what we do not have with us, we do it with the weather.

At Paws2Clip you will find only dedicated professionals that are able to handle the process. Contact us now for more information about our services.

Preventive electrical maintenance and the keys to optimise this process

Electrical maintenance  installations are a fundamental element in the proper functioning of a home, office, business premises, etc. Its maintenance and repair are essential mainly to prevent possible failures, fatal to personal and third-party safety. With proper electrical maintenance you will enjoy a safe and durable installation.

And since we do not want something bad to happen, we have designed this article so that you learn everything you need to do preventive maintenance and small repairs in basic electrical installations such as those in the home.

At Lighting Australia we offer you all the information you need for successful LED installation and use.

General concepts about electrical installations

Before establishing maintenance techniques and some important keys to carry out small repairs, we will clarify some general concepts about electrical installations to facilitate understanding of this type of systems, their operation and correct maintenance.

Understanding these general concepts, you will be able to carry out the usual maintenance and small repairs of electrical installations in homes yourself.

Types of electrical installations

An electrical system can be single-phase or three-phase. Let’s see in more detail what they consist of.

  1. Electrical installation with single-phase system. It has a form of distribution through two conductors, one of phase which comes from the local distributor, and the other neutral. This type of electrical system only feeds appliances of this type, providing the consumer with a single voltage.
  2. Electrical installation with three-phase system. This system has a different form of distribution than the single-phase system. The distribution is made through four conductors, three phase and one neutral. This type of system allows powering different types of devices that work with both single-phase and three-phase systems.
  3. Electrical system capacity. Knowing the maximum capacity accepted by the electrical installations that you are going to fix or maintain is essential to carry out any type of work successfully. Remember that to calculate the amperage of an electrical system you must use the formula (watts / voltage) = ampere. You should never exceed the intensity of the current (ampere) supported by an electrical appliance.

Components of indoor electrical installations.

The indoor electrical installations are made up of the splice, the boards and the circuits. Usually, in addition to being the ideal shape, the splice and meter are located in an accessible place so that the meter reading and maintenance work can be carried out.

The boards, for their part, can be of different types. There are the general, auxiliary, distribution, command and control boards. Each one of them fulfills a specific function within the management of electrical installations.

Finally, the existing circuits will depend on the type of system you have and its requirements.

These circuits are made up of terminals (switches, plugs, etc.), conductors (cables that allow electrical transit) and conduits (pipe type, underground, on a ladder by conductors, etc.).

The entire electrical installation is connected to the distribution networks through an underground or aerial connection.

Electrical installations in homes: importance of preventive maintenance

Electrical installations are a fundamental element in the daily operation of buildings of all kinds: homes, commercial premises, health centers, schools, industrial buildings, offices, and a long etcetera.

Performing regular maintenance of the facilities at these sites has hundreds of benefits. Not only does it improve equipment performance, save money and lower energy consumption, it also saves lives.

And it is that the lack of maintenance or inadequate repairs generate hundreds of deaths a year due to accidents related to these facilities, mainly due to electrocution or fire.

In the case of large public and private buildings, there is a regulation of electrical installations that regulates the maintenance and repair of these installations. It is mandatory and ensures the safety of people. However, at the domestic level there is no such thing.

That is why it is extremely important that the owners and inhabitants of each home are the ones who are aware of any problems with their electrical installation and that they become aware of the importance of keeping these systems in perfect condition.

Main maintenance functions

  1. Failures: with preventive maintenance you will be able to minimize the possibility of failures.
  2. Caution: with actions of this type you take care of and keep the electrical installations in perfect condition.
  3. Early detection: you will be able to detect premature aging of the facilities to prevent accidents.

Keys for the maintenance of electrical installations

Routine maintenance of electrical installations consists of performing a series of basic tasks such as visual inspections, cleaning, among others.

Within the corrective maintenance you can make small arrangements aimed at avoiding accidents, failures and defects of elements of the installation.

At the industrial and business level, there are other stages within the strategic plan for the maintenance of electrical installations such as scheduled maintenance and predictive maintenance, very useful so that it is not necessary to cut the service completely, avoid prejudices in the health of people , improve the productivity of the equipment and extend its useful life, something essential that saves a lot of money and time for entrepreneurs.

Next, we will give you some keys to keep the electrical system of your home in perfect condition and carry out small repairs in complete safety.

If you don’t know, don’t touch

If you don’t know, don’t touch the system as there is a high probability that something bad will happen. Electricity is something to be very careful with.

Disconnect electricity

The golden rule to make small repairs in elements of the electrical installation of your home, is that you disconnect the electricity before starting. For this you will have to lower the main switch of the electrical panel of the house.

Review and cleaning of electrical installations: basic maintenance

One of the main maintenance tasks consists of checking and cleaning certain electrical components and accessories for electrical installations.

In general, whenever you are going to clean parts of the installation make sure through a brief visual check if everything works and looks good.

If you are going to clean the distribution boards, switches and outlets you will have to take certain precautions.

The first thing you should do is cut the power to the general board. Clean the boards with a dry cloth.

For the covers of switches and outlets you can use a damp cloth, remembering that you must first disconnect the power circuits in those areas. Before reconnecting the circuits, let the entire area dry.

At Lighting Australia we offer you all the information you need for successful LED installation and use.

8 benefits of going to the sauna for your health

Better blood circulation, immune system booster, muscle toning or relief from sleep disorders… the health benefits of the sauna are in the handful! Far beyond leisure and beauty, we review its impact on your physical and mental well-being.

The sauna is the popular steam or sweating bath carried out in an enclosure at very high temperature, which according to the relative humidity within the enclosure is classified into wet -also called Turkish bath- or dry, the most common and imported from Finland, with sacred origin and linked not only to the release of toxins from the body through sweating, but also to the purification of the spirit. In the wet sauna, the temperature does not exceed 70 ° C and the relative humidity is very high, sometimes 100%. Meanwhile, the dry season has temperatures between 80º and 90 ° C and a minimum humidity, never higher than 20%.

The sauna has extremely healthy and therapeutic effects on the body. For these to be effective, there must be temperature contrasts, be fully hydrated with mineral water to compensate for the loss during the session and seek advice from a medical professional, since saunas are not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart problems or other conditions.

Harvard Medical School recommends avoiding alcohol consumption before or during the sauna, or talking or doing physical efforts inside it. On the other hand, depending on your metabolism, you can use it daily if it is slow or once or twice a week if it is fast. We review below all the benefits of this pleasant experience.

Here at Fresh Treatments we offer specialised sport massages, relieving pressure and stress accumulated in muscles and more. Contact us now if you are interested in this service.

8 key benefits of saunas for your health

  1. Toned muscles: Sauna sessions help reduce the presence of fat, reduce cellulite and relieve joint pain and fatigue. Spending time on it also helps you lose weight by increasing the intensity and frequency of your metabolic rates.
  2. Improved blood circulation: Hot saunas make blood vessels more flexible, increasing blood circulation and promoting complete detoxification and oxygenation of body tissues. In this way, they also favor the optimal distribution of nutrients, with beneficial effects on the hair, skin or nails. It is also a proven cure for various respiratory ailments, including chest congestion and bronchitis, as it helps in natural sinus drainage.
  3. Optimal health for your heart: During a sauna session, most people’s heartbeats increase by more than 50-75%, similar to a physical workout. In a report published by the American College of Cardiology, researchers revealed that saunas also help in the treatment of coronary heart disease.
  4. Purification through sweating: Sweating is the body’s natural cleansing mechanism, and saunas help to remove waste products through it. It should be remembered that more than 30% of total body waste is expelled through sweat, which is why profuse sweating in the sauna contributes to the detoxification of the body. In addition, the heat expands the vessels and increases blood flow.
  5. Strengthening the immune system: The temperature of the skin rises to more than 40 degrees, while the internal temperature of the body reaches 38. These triggers “a false state of fever”, which stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies and white blood cells that fight diseases, making you more resistant to them.
  6. Improved quality of sleep: They are highly recommended for people who suffer from insomnia. In fact, it is estimated that a 15-minute session is equivalent to improving sleep hygiene to an hour of walking or vigorous training.
  7. Avoid infections: The high temperatures experienced during a sauna session produce an increase in the production of internal cellular energy, which in turn guarantees efficient healing. Many disease-causing pathogens, such as viruses and tumors, are destroyed by this heat, preventing recurrent infections.
  8. Good for mental health: They are great for reducing your daily stress and experiencing greater levels of relaxation. They are recommended for people suffering from anxiety or depression.

Sauna, watch out for blood pressure

We have all heard of the myriad benefits of the sauna. Some of these benefits are true and some are really exaggerated. There are also contraindications and prohibitions, especially for people who suffer from problems of blood pressure or varicose veins in the acute phase.

The sauna is also an activity for which a protocol must be followed if we want to increase its benefits and ward off possible risks.

Does the sauna eliminate pathogens, protect against colds, help you lose weight, increase longevity, reduce stress, help you gain muscle, is it suitable for everyone…?

Does the sauna eliminate pathogens?

When it comes to the sauna eliminating pathogens “you have to specify”.

For example, it is true that there are studies that demonstrate its effectiveness for the treatment and recovery of processes at the respiratory level, which can be caused by bacteria, but it cannot be generalised.

And it cannot be generalized because there are many bacteria and there are some that are heat resistant, so the sauna would have no effect. Yes, you could say that it helps in the recovery process.

Does it protect against colds?

The issue of protection from colds, we would have to see the cause, because the cold is not a clinical entity as such but you can have a respiratory infection or only an inflammation of the respiratory tract.

The sauna can help, because if pathogens are eliminated from the skin, the person will be less exposed for example to a respiratory infection, it could serve as a preventive disinfectant agent, it could, but not for the condition as such.

Also, if there is a non-viral respiratory process, using it could come in handy to help deflate the airways and can reduce coughing attacks and mucus proliferation.

How to create a work team that achieves its objectives

The success or failure of a working group does not only depend on its members. Company culture, leadership style, and pay system also play a role in building the perfect team.

Nobody is perfect but a team can be. To successfully build workgroups, or optimize the performance of existing ones, certain factors must be considered that will determine whether or not employees can work together to achieve a goal.

CX Training is the main option when it comes to specialists offering tailored solutions that fulfil your customer’s requirements through customer training in Australia.

There are two types of factors, structural and dynamic, that determine whether employees can work as a team. First, a diagnosis should be made on the structural variables:

  • Company culture. It is useless to give training on how to work as a team if the company does not favor this methodology. Indeed, it is very difficult to try to create work teams when the company is very traditional. These organizations tend to have cultures in which command and control prevail, where the worker is not autonomous enough to contribute ideas, make decisions.
  • Internal organisation. The structure of certain companies makes teamwork difficult. They are organisations where the weight of the departments and the levels of the positions is very strong. Category differences, hierarchies, create insurmountable differences, including architectural barriers that hinder the relationship between employees.
  • Remuneration system. There are situations that play against teamwork and that favor competition among workers. They are work systems where individual reward is very important. For example, in a commercial team, where the worker who sells the most charges more.
  • Physical environment. The more physically separated people are – in offices, floors, buildings … – the more differences are created that do not favor teamwork. The problem: the lack of communication between them.
  • Especially when it comes to sharing information. If each unit has its information uploaded to a computer system and only it has access to retrieve it, it is evident that this does not encourage teamwork. On the contrary, each employee is empowered to keep the information and compete with her colleagues, making her own the maxim that information is power.

If when analysing the previous variables it is confirmed that the circumstances favor teamwork, it is possible to begin to address the dynamic factors, which have more to do with people.

Group dynamics

What should a team have to achieve adequate returns?

  • The team must have an objective, a perfectly defined goal that all team members know and share. This information is provided by the team coordinator, boss or director, or by the company itself.

Normally, everyone comes to share the same vision, but each member has their personal goals. Therefore, it is essential to discover what the hidden goals of each team member are. It’s like a football team: everyone has a goal – to win the League, the King’s Cup, the European Cup … – but there are players who have personal goals, such as not getting injured, renewing the contract, etc.

Thus, the personal objectives of each member of the group affect their degree of participation or their attitude and make it difficult for them to be as united as they should be. Therefore, these hidden interests must be discovered so that the whole team goes in the same direction.

  • Competences. In order for a team to meet its objectives, it would be necessary to analyse what knowledge and skills are required of its different members, because each one will interpret a functional role.

Once the team begins to function, do everything possible to make people aware of their level of competence, both professionally and personally. In this way, it is possible to know if workers need training or what aspects they must correct in their relationship with others.

  • Commitment. It is about seeing what interest each person has in meeting the team’s objectives. There are people who do their homework and when the working day is over they go home quietly. Others commit more, pull the car, get more involved, put in more hours – although this does not mean a greater commitment, etc.

The point is that if within a team the degree of commitment of its members varies, the final overall result will suffer. When there are more affluent people and those who dedicate more efforts perceive that others take advantage of it, they will stop doing so. This is detrimental to the dynamics of teamwork and leads to divisions among colleagues.

  • Cohesion. This factor has to do with communication. It is not about the group members being friends, but about the information being transparent and circulating freely among all of them. For example, if one person is unhappy with another or is suspicious of their work, it is best to treat them openly. If this is not done, the situation will negatively affect the objectives.

When selecting a person to be part of a working group, it is more important that he or she tunes in with the team’s objectives, because their degree of commitment will be greater than having all the knowledge, skills and experience, because this can be acquired.

Typically, team members are selected to represent their functional roles on the basis of their knowledge and experience, regardless of whether their personal traits help them work as a team. These characteristics have to do with the so-called emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is based on:

  • Leadership. Above all, have initiative and also the ability to motivate other colleagues.
  • Self-knowledge. That is, perceive yourself in a balanced way: know your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Self-control. Dominate the ego, avoiding the desire for leadership.
  • Self-motivation. In this globalized and competitive system, don’t wait for a pat on the back. You have to motivate yourself.
  • Empathy. You have to understand and get to know others. Know what they think and feel, perceive their needs.
  • Cooperation. There are too many individualists, people who create conflicts and who do not know how to work in a team.

Dangers lurk

Building the ideal team is not easy and, sometimes, some circumstances can ruin the project:

  • Swimming against the current. When someone doesn’t share the team’s goals, don’t be overbearing. Give them opportunities to voice their objections and provide alternatives. If this does not work, it is necessary to give him a touch of attention, and in extreme cases, invite him to leave.
  • Select a friend. When there are no direct daily rewards, anything becomes a reward, for example, communication with the boss. If he has preferential treatment with one of the members, he is giving more authority to some than to others. In this case, you have to appeal to the mental maturity of the boss and his friend.

It seems clear that the success of a team is based, above all, on two pillars: having very clear objectives and making a good selection

With CX Training on your team, offering second to none conflict resolution training in Brisbane, we can help you achieve your goals and build a cohesive team to maximise your efficiency in the workplace.

The costs of job stress for a company

For organisations, the effect of work stress stems from the costs of increased absenteeism, resignations, poor performance, an increase in unsafe practices at work and an increase in the frequency of accidents, in addition to the costs of dissatisfaction with the client, replacement of workers, training and more.

Work stress can be defined as a pattern of reactions [physiological, emotional, cognitive and behavioral], which occur when the worker is presented with demands at work that do not connect with their knowledge, skills or competences and also challenges their ability to cope that situation.

As stated by the World Health Organization (2007), to understand work stress it must be taken into account that there are cultural differences and individual characteristics that interact with risk factors at work and determine how a person will react to their stress. work and how you will understand the task, mission, values and other characteristics of an organization to feel in good working conditions, motivated, identified, among others.

All these conditions can alter the balance expected by the worker between working conditions, resources and capacities to face these conditions, in addition to the quality of personal life.

Today there are companies specialised in teaching corporate yoga such as Absolutely Corporate where we create tailored programs, according to the objectives and needs of each corporation. Contact us now for information about our services and make sure your business is working up to the highest possible potential.

Stress Consequences in your daily work life

The consequences of work stress for the organization are staff turnover, low productivity, low achievement orientation on the part of the worker, failure to achieve the proposed organizational objectives, and economic costs at the business level due to issues related to the health of employees and , finally, the costs of performing interventions to prevent and manage issues related to work stress.

These consequences may vary according to the organizational culture, from what actions the organisation takes to balance possible stressors with benefits for the worker from the organisation’s welfare system, such as flexible hours, leave for important family times, free occupational health programs, among others. others.

This issue is of utmost importance because, as stated by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, in its publication written by Cosmar et al., (2014) “in many organizations there is a misperception that focusing on psychosocial risks [to avoid diseases such as stress] is too great a challenge and involves many costs, when in fact, the evidence suggests that not paying enough attention to these risks is even more costly for employers, workers and the organization in general ”( Cosmar et al, 2014).

The research project published in 2014, carried out by the European Agency for Safety and Health at work, focused on reflecting the monetary, social, individual and organizational costs that work stress has in different European countries and in England, different times, considering different currencies and their value over time, making cautious comparisons to show that at any given time, these costs have been considerable for company.

Common factors in investigations

The common factors found by the investigation are that of the total cost of occupational diseases, 32.4% corresponds to absenteeism, 58.4% corresponds to “presenteeism” (which is understood to be in the organization without being productive) and 9.2% to staff resignations. These costs are represented in studies of various diseases present in work areas, based on theories from previous studies and counting on the monetary representation of each country, to have a good reference company.

Nowadays, given that the harmfulness of occupational diseases such as stress has already been proven for the organization, but they are measurable long-term effects, more precise methods are still needed to motivate investment in interventions and strategies from human resources and occupational health to confront work stress in favor of the organization and, more importantly, of the human beings who work for it.

We must understand that we are in a world that moves in terms of numbers and specific statistics, as a convincing power for decision-making, from there it is necessary to specify the methods to motivate investment in worker health protection.

The costs

The costs of stress translate into the following:

  • 19% absenteeism
  • 40% of turnover
  • 55% of the cost of employee assistance programs (or more)
  • 30% of the cost of short- and long-term disability
  • 10% of the cost of the pharmacy program for psychiatric medications
  • 100% (total cost) of work-related stress complaints and lawsuits

The above data are calculated “conservatively”, which implies that they could be higher. Another source refers that presenteeism, the phenomenon of being “in the present body” is up to 7.5 times more expensive than absenteeism.

In the United States alone, it is estimated that the figure could rise to 300 billion dollars annually. The costs associated with violence in the company, which include mobbing or workplace harassment, as well as sexual and racial harassment, etc. and coverage plans for disability due to stress-related illnesses are not included.

Stress generally has more of an impact on white-collar workers (salaried professionals), low-ranking employees in the organizational hierarchy, the service sector and on women. The little daily stressors are usually the most damaging. With each stressful event, around 1,400 chemical reactions are metabolized in our body. some of which are kept for hours after the event occurred.

How it affects your behavior

  • People affected by stress:
  • They smoke more
  • Eat more
  • They consume more alcohol and have more problems related to drug use
  • They are less motivated
  • They have more problems with their co-workers
  • They get sicker than their counterparts

How it affects your health

  • Some effects associated with stress are:
  • Weakening of the immune system
  • Increase in infectious diseases
  • Chronic respiratory diseases
  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Obesity
  • Gastrointestinal Diseases
  • Depression

Here at Clean & Clean you will find a team of professionals dedicated to leave your place completely spotless after a deep cleaning.

What are allergens?

They are substances that trigger allergic reactions. When these substances come into contact with allergy sufferers, their immune system reacts by producing antibodies in order to defend itself against the allergen, causing allergy symptoms in this fight / defense.

Official Master in Prevention

Allergy symptoms do not appear in the first contact, it is a process in which after continuous contact with allergens the person becomes sensitized until after a certain period of time the allergy develops.

From that moment on, each time the individual contacts the causative agent of their allergy, the same symptoms will be triggered.

What are the most common allergens?

In both the domestic and work environment, numerous allergies can occur from contact with different allergens, among which the following stand out:

Dust mites

Mites are insects that live in hot and humid environments, we can find them in carpets or rugs, in upholstered chairs, even among work clothes, etc.

There are preventive measures for its control:

  • Avoid decorative elements that lead to the accumulation of dust.
  • Use of adequate ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain environmental conditions between 18 and 20º C and a relative humidity of 50-60%.
  • perform regular cleaning preferably using vacuum cleaners with a suitable filter.

Pollen

Produced by plants of all types and diversity, although it is usually a seasonal allergy, it is one of the most common.

Among the preventive measures for this type of allergies, among which are:

  • Keep the windows closed both in the office and in the means of transport, especially in the time zone where the pollen concentration is highest (first thing in the morning and at dusk).
  • Install air conditioning systems with pollen filters.
  • Avoid contact with allergy-causing plants.
  • Use protective masks if necessary.
  • Change clothes and shower when you get home.
  • Visit the specialist doctor to prescribe the most appropriate treatment.

Fungi and mold

The main allergens of these are its spores, which occur in warm and humid environments, so we can find it anywhere where the right conditions for its development exist: basements, bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, etc.

Preventive measures for this type of allergies are aimed at the formation of molds and fungi, such as:

  • Air rooms frequently to maintain good ventilation
  • In the case of environments with high humidity levels, it will be necessary to use dehumidifiers
  • Clean moldy walls and paint them with anti-mold paint.
  • Clean the most problematic areas with anti-mold cleaning substances.

Allergens of animal origin

Own activities related to livestock or companion animal husbandry. Obviously, a person with this type of allergy should not perform any task related to the care of animals, however some tips to avoid this type of allergies are:

  • Avoid contact with animals.
  • Brush and clean the animal’s hair regularly.
  • Frequently clean the areas where the animal is most.
  • Carry out the tasks with the appropriate personal protective equipment.

Chemical substances

present in many products used in the world of work, and the cause of most allergies to workers.

It can occur in work activities carried out abroad: construction works, agriculture, gardening, etc.

Medicines

Although it is not an allergy typical of the work environment, it can occur due to the ingestion of some medication during working hours or due to inhalation during its handling in pharmaceutical industries or hospital environments.

Job sectors with a high rate of allergies

  • Hairdressers: dermatitis caused by contact with dyes and bleaches that contain products such as ammonia and hydrogen peroxide.
  • Agriculture: rhinitis and asthma caused by contact with plants, fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Livestock: rhinitis and asthma caused by contact with animals, especially with their hair.
  • Food and catering: rhinitis and asthma due to contact and inhalation of flours used to make certain foods, it may also be due to the presence of dust mites and molds. In this sector, certain contact dermatites also tend to appear due to the continuous use of detergents.
  • Healthcare area: contact dermatitis with detergents, chemicals and latex gloves.
  • Construction: dermatitis due to contact with products such as cement, resins, silicones. Rhinitis and asthma may also appear from inhalation of dust.
  • Metallurgy: dermatitis due to contact with metals and their dust, contact with cutting oils, paints, etc.
  • Carpentry: the treatment and cutting of wood produces a large amount of dust that leads to rhinitis and asthma. In this activity varnishes and resins that cause the same symptoms are used.

Seven tricks to renovate the kitchen with a limited budget

If you dream of giving this space another look but the idea of a reform terrifies you, put into practice these tricks to renovate the kitchen without works and spending less money.

Few people we know who have enjoyed doing home renovations, and even less when it comes to the kitchen. Whether it is small or large, it implies that you will not be able to cook for a few days and, although it is not the most dramatic thing in the world, it is a nuisance. Not to mention the money to be invested.

There are many solutions to renovate the kitchen without works, spending a decent budget and even doing it yourself.

Australian Construction & Development Services is a business with over 30 years of experience in the field of construction, repairs, building maintenance and insurance.

How to renovate the kitchen without annoying works

Don’t call a contractor or get supplies for the days you can’t use the kitchen. With these solutions you can almost completely transform your kitchen without having to request a building permit from the town hall:

Change the lamps

Of all the options, this is probably one of the easiest. Open a catalog of lamps and let the new light be in your kitchen. You have pendant lamps and recessed spotlights, among other options.

It is important that you know the degree of natural light that enters through the windows, or if it is an interior kitchen, the style of this space, the colors.

Even the type of light bulb you choose is important and can change the look of this space in your home. Traditionally, kitchens have white light, which we unconsciously associate with clean but cold spaces. If you want to add warmth, try yellow light bulbs.

Chalkboard painting in the kitchen, the fun touch

Write down the shopping list, the plans for the weekend, leave messages to your roommates or bring out your most artistic vein. A wall with chalkboard paint gives a completely different look to your kitchen and the good thing is that it will always be changing, although this depends on you and the use you give it.

You don’t need to paint a large wall either, but if your kitchen is small or you have little surface area to paint, hang a small blackboard in a corner and give it the same use.

Ideas to take advantage of a small kitchen

Change the kitchen furniture outside but not inside

Just by renovating the furniture doors you will have the feeling of entering a new kitchen. You can even turn what was a dark closet into a display cabinet so that your dishes look unapologetic. If you maintain the structure of the interior of the furniture, you save money and you do not have to take out all the pots and put them back, which is always a headache.

Paint the furniture and brand-new handles

If the furniture in your kitchen was made to measure, changing the fronts can be a bit more expensive. If you prefer to save, paint will be your great ally. Make sure that it can be used on the material of your furniture, choose a color for the furniture polish and get down to non-work.

You can also combine two shades of paint, giving one color to the furniture that hangs on the wall and another to those that rest under the countertops, for example. A fun and highly visual game that will attract the attention of those who visit your home.

And while you are, look for new shooters. Changing this little detail does much more than you think about the aesthetics of this space.

The walls are not saved either, although the change will be more evident the more wall you have and this does not always happen.

And be careful, because you can paint up to the door. Yes, the one in and out of the kitchen. With a stroke of paint you not only give a new look to this space, but it will also project it outwards.

Tear off the tiles? No way!

Even if you want to tear off the tiles when the lentils burn and thus have the perfect excuse to renew them, you don’t have to. Just give them a couple of coats of paint or wallpaper them.

If you choose to paint them, make sure you use a special glaze for tiles, because not just any paint will do for them. As always, pay attention to the colors that your furniture or the floor already have so that your kitchen does not end up looking like a nursery full of colors.

In the case of wallpapering the tiles, there is a special wallpaper for kitchens that incorporates a layer of vinyl, thanks to which moisture is isolated. The thicker the paper, the greater the resistance. And you don’t have to worry about how to clean it, since wiping it with a damp cloth is more than enough.

Or maybe your kitchen does not have tiles and precisely adding them is the change you are looking for. To make it quick and easy, opt for vinyls that simulate them (there are them with different motifs and some even simulate stone or exposed brick) and forget about filling everything with dust to put some real ones. My recommendation is that you place them in the front where you have the fires, to protect the wall from the inevitable splashes when we cook.

New countertop and renew the kitchen without works

This change can make you spend a little more money, but it can also be the only thing you need for the renovation. Also think that it is a long-term expense. Investing in a good countertop not only transforms the look of your kitchen, it can last for decades. Some types of countertops are:

  • Laminated: Are those on whose surface a plastic sheet is placed. This can be of different colors, imitate stone, wood, etc. Its price is usually lower than the others.
  • Natural stone: Granite, marble or quartz are the most used stones for natural stone countertops, which are elegant, resistant and very durable but you have to take good care of them so that the passage of time is not noticed.
  • Artificial stone: Aesthetically it is the same as the previous ones. It is obtained by mixing natural stone and resin, generally. They are a good option when we want the effect of stone but not spend so much money.
  • Wood: In rustic kitchens you cannot miss a wooden countertop. It is warm, it is beautiful, it brings personality but it is delicate. If it gets stained, it must be cleaned quickly, it can crack, you cannot leave hot pans or pots on it and it must be cleaned every day to make it hygienic.
  • Stainless steel: They are the most used in professional kitchens because their cleaning and disinfection is very simple and they support everything. But in homes they are somewhat cold.

If you choose a new countertop, your kitchen will look like another completely.

14 simple exercises for language problems

There are many language problems, most of which affect the articulation of words or are caused by motor difficulties in the muscles involved in speech. For this reason, there are several exercises that can help overcome them, being applied in the classroom or even from home, depending on the language problems that arise.

Be sure to review the section on knowing the best strategies for working with autistic people

Some language problems are derived from developmental disorders such as autism or attention deficit disorder, others from physical disorders in the organs that participate in language or emotional aspects due to some additional extrinsic factor. On the other hand, one of the causes of language problems may be the way in which this skill is acquired.

Remember: the best thing against health complications is going to the hospital. If you or any of your relatives get sick, here at Parkwood Green Medical we’ll be happy to assist you.

Exercises to treat language problems are related to respiratory movements and actions, which affect the rhythm and some oral-facial movements on the tongue, lips, cheeks and the palate. These are the top 10:

1 – Breathing exercises

It is done with simple and repetitive movements, incorporating sounds. You can perform nasal and mouth inhalations and exhalations, retaining the air. Also progressively retain air inside the mouth or nose. You can also include fast, slow or deep breaths, letting the air out quickly.

2 – Blow paper balls

Paper or polyethylene balls should be placed, you can also use candles, blow down towers of paper and use straws to suck up water or lemonade. Another fun strategy is to blow soap bubbles.

3 – Pronounce the vowels

To perform the pronunciation the child must inhale slowly through the nose, retain the air and then exhale slowly mentioning the 5 vowels. Speed can also be increased, depending on how the air is handled.

4 – Rhythm exercise

In language problems, rhythm is essential to deal with, so that words can be correctly articulated. To do this, you can tap a table or drum, and then ask the child to imitate the sounds with his voice, in this way he can adapt to the rhythm.

5 – Play with the syllables

The child must articulate syllables using a consonant, repeatedly, for example: With the letter P, he will articulate the syllable pa, pa, pa, pa. Then you must change the vowels and each time you perform this exercise, rhythm and articulation are exercised, improving language problems.

6 – Articulate phrases

In this case, complete sentences, poetry, tongue twisters or short stories can be used, in this way the child will repeat the syllables and phrases, over and over again until they are correctly articulated. This exercise helps to improve language problems, which can also be combined with hitting small objects to set the pace.

7 – Exercises with the tongue

They include a diversity of movements with the tongue, ideal for language problems in which the articulation of some phonemes is affected. You can roll your tongue in all directions, stretch your tongue, bring it to the upper palate, eat gum, and touch all teeth with the tip of your tongue.

8 – Silence exercises

They should first be located in a completely silent room, and then make a sound, so that the child can detect and pay attention, and then ask what sound we hear.

This exercise not only helps to improve language problems, but can also help them distinguish the duration and intensity of sounds, exercising their location and recognition of the objects that emit them.

9 – Exercises with the lips

They can be done by holding a toothpick with your lips, without putting it completely in your mouth. They can also be tightened and loosened, separated and brought together quickly. Make the sound of the letter P with your lips repeatedly.

10 – Facial exercises

Inflate the cheeks and deflate them, after holding the air for a few seconds. The cheeks can also be alternated, first on the left side and then inflate the right. In addition, the water can be retained in the mouth and released slowly.

  1. Cards

Flashcards can go a long way in helping children learn sounds that they cannot pronounce correctly. It is best to turn this exercise into a game and reward the child when she pronounces the sounds shown on the cards correctly.

This will not only make it more attractive to your child, but it will also motivate your child to pronounce the sounds correctly.

  1. Mirror exercises

Children with articulation problems have difficulty pronouncing words and sounds due to their inability to make the correct movement with their mouth to produce the correct sound.

Mirror exercise is one of the most useful speaking exercises for young children who need to solve these types of problems.

You can teach your child the correct movement of the mouth and the sound that accompanies this movement while he repeats it in front of a mirror. This way, you will know how to move your mouth with the words that are more difficult for you.

  1. Repetitions

Among all the other speaking exercises for preschoolers, repeating the words over and over can be a tedious job for parents or even children if it becomes too boring. Although repetition can be very important for children to improve their speech quickly. When you repeat the words for your children, you should do it slowly and easily so that they hear them and realise all the phonemes.

  1. Enhance speech

Talking regularly with a child is the best way to get her to develop her speech and language skills. Another way to do this is to pronounce the name of the object that the child wants, encouraging her to say the word to get it.

To enhance speech in young children, it is ideal to only give her what she asks for if she says the right word and not just using hand gestures. This will motivate the child to find ways to be able to use language and get what he wants.

In Parkwood Green Medical we are specialised in speech pathologies, and of course, the professional medical team to perform it based on the needs of the patients, and also taking into account what led the patient to have the condition.

Office chairs that are good for the back; 5 Tips before buying

Many times, we write about what happens to us in everyday life with the intention of learning. This time, we have a colleague who suffers from lumbar problems and we have decided to buy an ergonomic chair for the office, one of those that provides virtues and benefits to have a comfort ten how much you feel.

And here comes the mess, because when you ask about ergonomic chairs to protect your back, you get an avalanche of information like crazy with hundreds of options (operational, collective, rotating, steering, desktop, etc) to buy a seat comfortable.

“Normally, between 60 and 70% of office furniture is ergonomically inappropriate. It is necessary to consider What does the position adopted by a person in his job depend on?”

From the manual and visual requirements of the task. Of the anatomical and anthropometric characteristics of the subject. Finally, the physical design of the work, that is, to a large extent, the characteristics of the chair.

Choosing Davis Furniture as your provider of beautiful pieces of furniture such as our Australian made office tables with unique colours and textures is a great choice that will surely exceed your expectations. We are proud of being the best option for our Australian customers. Call us today!

What lumbar problems come from chairs?

We spent 8-10 hours in front of the computer. If we multiply by our entire working life, they are many hours sitting. But… what risks will we have in the office? They originate mainly from two causes:

The first is by adopting bad postures.

In second place, for always maintaining the same position.

In both cases, there is a direct relationship between postural problems and their causes due to; the furniture, the organization of the environment and work. And if it is not clear, then we have the perfect scheme:

Tips for buying a chair that protects your back

It is necessary to prevent, it is the main advice on health, that is to say, to sit well. And as a reminder, back problems do not come when you are young, they come with advanced ages and here the remedy no longer works. So, take note of the following tips to buy a healthy office chair.

1.- Always opt for an ergonomic seat design

When you wonder … What should the design of an office chair look like? The quick answer is “comfortable.” But ergonomics and comfort, in reality, are two different concepts, although linked.

When we talk about a “comfortable chair” it will not reduce our pain, indeed, so that we DO NOT change our position for many hours. And there, according to experts, is where the greatest musculoskeletal ailments occur.

2.- You must look at how long you will be sitting

At first glance this may seem silly, and in fact, in many cases we do not know. But what we can recognize is that the manufacturers approve the chairs for the hours that we are going to be seated.

Chairs approved for sitting

  • Many computer chairs or gaming chairs are only approved for daily use of 4 hours, instead of the 8 that are normally assigned to those of offices – agencies.
  • An ergonomic chair serves to prevent occupational diseases, but also, we should exercise our muscles throughout the day.
  • It is recommended that at least every 2 hours we get up and do stretches (back, neck, legs and arms) to avoid overloading the muscles and numbing the legs due to a lack of blood circulation.

3.- A good backrest in the chair is health

Back support is the main goal of many ergonomic chairs, but what makes a chair good in terms of back support?

Ideally, the work seat should do a couple of things to prevent neck problems:

  • Provide back support with an incline of 90 degrees or up to 90 degrees.
  • Include cushioning that pushes your back forward when you sit in the chair.
  • As we see in the image, with these adjustable mechanisms we obtain ergonomic chairs to prevent cervical problems.
  • Lumbar support is essential to prevent slouching and minimize the load on the back. With this in mind, in addition, the backrest of an ideal ergonomic office chair is between 30 cm and 50 cm wide.
  • If the backrest is tilt back, the head will tend to go forward, which will equal to cervical pains in the long

From a technical point of view, the maximum pressure on the back is the most related to the appearance of discomfort problems, since maximum pressures above 40 KPa give rise to discomfort in most users.

Is the lumbar cushion good for something in a chair? It serves to prevent herniated discs and rest the vertebral discs.

However, according to experts, each case is different: there are people who have hyperidrosis and will need it, but other users, for example, who have a spinal rectification, will not need it.

If you are not sure you need it, it is better not to use it and consult the relevant doctor. He is the one who can best advise you!

4.- Adjustable arms do matter

We know, a chair without arms is cheaper and in reality, we practically do not use them. But are armrests necessary on office chairs?

The function of the armrest is so that the limbs rest and we can change our posture throughout the day or support ourselves to get up.

We should have a minimum height adjustment, although currently the chairs sell adjustable arms according to the different movements.

We can find them in different materials, although the most common are polypropylene or higher-end aluminum.

5.- Look for a seat that has horizontal movement and is curved

The horizontal movement of the seat serves to adapt the base both to the backrest and to the position of the knees. The cascading finished seats (curve down at the knees) prevent the seat from catching you behind the knees.

The tray where we sit should be smooth and contoured so that it does not cause compression on the buttocks and thighs.

For those of the higher end, other comfort systems are provided that will benefit the health in the chair.

The perfect furniture for an office is available here at Davis Furniture. Choosing Davis Furniture as your provider of beautiful pieces of furniture such as our Australian made office tables with unique colours and textures is a great choice that will surely exceed your expectations. What all couples do know is that it will be an unforgettable trip.

The first thing to take into account is the preparation time that the trip will take, since it cannot be organised from one day to the next, unless your idea is something more adventurous and riskier. We leave you certain tips so that you do not leave any detail to chance.

Among the many things that we must plan during a wedding, we cannot forget to organize a honeymoon as we deserve.

After months of nerves, anxiety and emotions on the surface and the first trip as spouses must be perfect. Pay attention to the following tips to have a great time and enjoy it to the fullest.

Here at My Ideal Wedding we provide you with everything you need for a memorable weeding that will leave every one surprised. This way you can make sure no details will be left forgotten during the most memorable day of your life.

  1. Define and limit the budget

One of the things they will have to talk about first is what budget they will have for the honeymoon. Based on that number, they will be able to chat more clearly about the options they can access. Remember, when calculating the budget, that you must consider the cost of tickets, accommodation, food and provide a small fund for other special expenses, such as a souvenir you want to bring or a whim you want to give yourself.

  1. Beach or city?

Possibly, as a couple, they have similar tastes when choosing a place to travel. Many couples prefer an island paradise; others opt for more urban destinations, as they enjoy touring large cities.

It all depends on what they want for that special moment: something quiet and intimate or going out and enjoying the fun of parties and shopping.

  1. Organised trip vs. impromptu trip

For more relaxed couples, surely the option will be to think of a more unstructured trip, without a fixed destination; For more traditional couples, the ideal will be to organise in detail what destinations they will visit, where they will stay, how many days, and other factors that are important.

You as a couple know what is best for you and what will make you feel more comfortable. Each option has its advantages, and it will depend on the lifestyle they lead, the budget and the time they plan to travel. The important thing is that they feel comfortable with the way they choose.

  1. Hire travel packages or organise it yourself

When you have decided on a destination, it’s time to plan the trip. Tourism companies offer the facility of watching over each of the honeymoon details: from the purchase of tickets, accommodation, to the various extra activities that can be carried out on the spot. Buying travel packages is an ideal option for those who want to reach their destination and just enjoy.

Another option is for you to take care of every detail of the trip yourself: you will surely find a ticket promotion and you can choose various accommodation alternatives. It will be fun for them and they can know in advance which service they are choosing. One tip: remember to read the opinions and experiences of other travelers.

  1. Lovers of cold or heat?

The season of the year in which they are going to travel is also decisive. Of course, if you want a destination of sand and sea, you should prioritise whether it is spring or summer at the destination. If on the contrary, you prefer lower temperatures, aim to travel in autumn.

In addition, they should take into account that each area has its own climatic characteristics, such as the hurricane season in tropical countries or snowfall in Europe, so investigate these data so that you are not caught off guard.

  1. Check documentation, vaccines, and others

To enter many countries, you must request a special visa, so you should check if this is a condition in the place where you are traveling.

Another factor to take into account is the necessary vaccines: many areas of the jungle, for example, require vaccines against yellow fever.

It is also important to consider the currency of the country you are going to visit, and assess whether it is convenient to exchange money in that country.

Also keep an eye out for other legal considerations that may arise during your stay. As the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Although now it seems like a long time away, the honeymoon is getting closer and closer. Wherever they travel, they will live it as one of the most romantic experiences of their lives, because it will be nothing less than that: their first trip as spouses who swore eternal love. When you’re there, just worry about one thing: enjoy it to the fullest!

Be flexible

Perhaps your dream honeymoon included a Mediterranean cruise, a hot air balloon tour, or a beachfront cabin in the Maldives. But for reasons of money, time or tastes of the other, it will not be possible to fulfill that wish. Do not be discouraged! You will always have the possibility of making that trip in the future.

The important thing now is that you can enjoy the first experience away from home as a couple as a couple. Even if the budget is only enough for a weekend getaway to a farm a few miles from home.

Here at My Ideal Wedding we provide you with everything you need for a memorable wedding that will leave everyone surprised at the quality of your wedding planning.

Why companies should invest in Digital Marketing

Companies are already realizing the importance of being visible on the Internet. And to achieve this they must invest in Digital Marketing.

We are in a moment of transition in the era of digital transformation. Many companies are already considering how to integrate Digital Marketing into their organizational structure. Others still believe that “their neighbour’s cousin, who is very crafty about the Internet,” can do a good job for them. Unfortunately for them, there are also those who do not believe in the need to have a 2.0 presence.

Medium and small companies have the concept that it is not necessary to invest in Digital Marketing. Many decide not to do so because of a strange concept of gratuity that underlies creating social profiles. Opening them is free but it is not that they see you.

The constant changes of algorithms in social networks make investing in paid ads a must.

MLK Marketing offers the best services of SEO specialist in Melbourne if you are a business owner that understand the way digital marketing works nowadays and how important it is to keep evolving as time goes by.

Reasons to invest in Digital Marketing

  • There are more than 3,600 million people in the world with Internet access
  • 5% of the world’s population has access to the Internet
  • The growth of Internet users between 2000-2016 is 905.5%

As a company, are you going to miss out on the opportunity to reach these people?

Usually in companies a part of the annual budget is allocated to offline marketing. Why not digital marketing?

  1. Internet is the fastest growing medium

Internet is the medium that has grown the most in recent years, more than TV, radio or written press. The forecast is that it continues to do so. Therefore, any business that wants to continue to exist must be adequately visible on the Internet.

After the ubiquitous TV, the Internet has already positioned itself as the second conventional medium in which more is invested in advertising.

  1. Social Networks, an excellent place to talk

Social media is an excellent place to establish contact with our clients. In them, users openly express their opinions to us, which allows us to offer efficient customer service.

They are present in the daily lives of users. That is why it is important to enhance the benefits they provide us. In them we can learn first-hand what they want. And for that, they have to know that we exist. The investment in Digital Marketing here is of vital importance.

  1. Digital Marketing is cheaper than conventional.

Implementing a Digital Marketing campaign is less expensive and more flexible than a conventional one. In the first, you can make corrections on the fly if you see that the results are not being what you expected.

But we are not only talking about the cost of the ad itself. Also of the content that we are going to publish.

Making a TV spot is much more expensive than preparing a banner to advertise in a successful digital newspaper. And it is even more profitable to promote the contents of your social networks.

  1. Going viral

Only quality content is shared by your community. Users no longer want to passively consume ads, they want to participate in them. Therefore, it is essential that you publish useful topics for them, that you anticipate and answer their questions or that you facilitate the tasks they intend to undertake.

Push the reach of those quality content and reach more potential customers. Promote them.

  1. Digital Marketing campaigns are measurable

In the short term you can know the results of your campaign. You can evaluate them yourself. This is essential to adapt and improve the strategy you have designed for your company.

Establish the metrics that give you the information you need. And, above all, calculate the ROI (return on investment) of your campaign.

  1. Digital Marketing allows you to segment your target audience

One of the great advantages of investing in Digital Marketing, compared to conventional Marketing, is that it allows you to segment your target audience.

An advertisement on TV, for example, is massive. You choose the time slot in which you want to appear because you think your target is there. And a little more. That ad will appear on the screen and it will be seen by all those who are at that moment, who you want and who you don’t.

The specification you achieve with Digital Marketing is much more detailed. In addition to gender, age or geographical area, you can choose the tastes or profession of those users that you want to see you.

  1. Users look on the Internet before buying

There are numerous studies that reflect this data. Therefore, as a company, as a brand, you have to be visible and appear in those searches.

Keep in mind that users not only get information from search engines, they also get information from social networks. The Facebook search engine is increasingly used by consumers.

Where to invest the Digital Marketing budget

Now that we are convinced of how necessary it is for our company to invest in Digital Marketing, we have to decide where we are going to advertise, what we are going to advertise and what objective we seek with it.

There are different places you can advertise:

– Generic search engines, like Google.

– Social networks.

– Blogs related to your business.

– Digital websites that your buyer persona (display) frequent.

You must also decide what you are going to promote:

– A post.

– A video.

– A publication on social networks.

– A landing page designed to sell a specific product.

– You will design a set of ads for A / B test.

And, of course, you have to be clear about the objectives you are looking for with that campaign:

– Increased traffic to your website.

– Get leads.

– That they know more about your brand (branding).

– Sell more.

– Recover visits to your website that left without converting (retargeting).

Once you have defined at least these three points and the budget that you are going to allocate, you can launch your Digital Marketing campaign.

The statement in this section of the post is “where” and the specific answer depends on the variables we have seen.

If you have a low budget, perhaps investing in Facebook is the most profitable, since it is in this social network where you will find your audience. We are all on Facebook.

If your budget is high, combining ads on Google with social networks may be the most appropriate formula.

Either way, let yourself be advised by an expert in Digital Marketing like the ones you will find here at MLK Marketing.

The basic elements of a company and how to improve them with financial consulting

The first step is to know what the basic elements of your company are and how they are categorised, in this way it will be easier for you to understand the finances of your business, as well as the documents to keep accounting records and later set long-term goals.

Therefore, we will begin by defining what the finances of a business are:

The finances of a business are the administration of inputs, assets and liabilities to guarantee the stability and / or growth of a business.

Here at Prickly Pear Consulting we can help you improve job performance in your company with the use of excellent methodologies. Contact us today for more information.

The terms found in this definition may seem a bit technical, but do not panic below you will find we will explain what these elements mean:

What are business assets

They are the goods that belong to a company and must be categorised based on the time they are present in your business.

Fixed assets

They are those that will remain in the medium or long term (for more than a year) and this type of property in turn is divided into:

Material: They can be real estate, furniture or work equipment. For example, in a restaurant refers to tables, plates, cutlery, glass, kitchen equipment, etc.

Intangibles: They are rights or non-material elements and can be patents or the registration of a trademark.

Financial: It is the long-term economic capital that a company has.

Current assets

They are those that remain less than a year and are usually divided into:

Cash and banks: It is the money that is available for the operation in cash or in a bank account

Documents or Receivable Accounts: The money that you can demand for the sale of products, services or because you granted a credit. For this type of action, it is best to use documents that legally protect you, such as bills of exchange or promissory notes.

Warehouse or Inventories: These are all the goods that can be used for the production or sale of products. It can be raw materials, articles that are in the process of production, packaging, spare parts or goods already finished.

What are business liabilities

They are the loans or credits of your company. In other words, they are debts pending payment to suppliers, financial institutions, taxes and even social security. The liabilities of your company are categorised by the type of organisation to which you owe and you must divide it by the time it takes to fully finance that debt.

  • Short term: For loans of less than one year.
  • Long-term: Loans that you will finish paying in more than a year.

Why it is important to separate personal finances from your business

Now that we have seen what are the elements that are part of your company, we will talk about why it is vital that you make the separation, since this is one of the most common mistakes that entrepreneurs have, especially those who launch a business for the first time or they operate under the freelance scheme.

It may be very tempting to use business money to cover personal contingencies, but this is a habit that could affect you, since if you mix personal expenses with those of the business, it will be very difficult to prepare the records that help you know how your business behaves and whether it is profitable or not.

Think that in the early stages of your venture you will have fixed and variable costs, consequently if you use the same account to spend that money it will be more difficult to know when your business reaches the breakeven point where it does not lose money, as well as the moment start to make a profit.

In summary, if you get used to covering costs of your company with personal money, you will not be able to say with certainty if it is profitable and you could even negatively impact cash flow, strategic planning to grow the business, as well as cost optimisation.

Remember that when you make a profit in your business you should think about how you are going to invest that money to make it grow more, in addition to that you should always have savings to face a crisis. This is why it is not recommended that you use your earnings to pay for personal expenses.

What type of records should a business keep?

In the previous sections we saw basic elements of financial education (what are the elements of your business and why it is important to have an adequate record) that will help you better manage your business.

Now, it is time to say explain are the 3 basic documents that you must have in your company to understand the complete picture of what is happening. These are:

  • Balance sheet
  • Statement of income
  • Cash Flow

Balance sheet

It is the document that reports the assets, liabilities and capital of a company. It is used to show the current situation of a business (no matter what size it is). Think of it as a photograph that shows what you have, who is owed, how much is owed, and summarises whether the business made a profit or loss.

In the previous sections we saw what the assets and liabilities of your company were, but you may be wondering what the capital part refers to. This is the money that you contribute as an entrepreneur and / or your partners.

To make it a bit clearer, here are what a balance sheet document looks like and some very simple tips on how to read it:

Let’s say that you gave 50 thousand dollars for the business, that money will be reflected in the capital part and the banking part. On the other hand, your partner contributed raw material valued at 200 thousand dollars, that in the assets part should be placed in the inventories section.

If you had a credit of 15 thousand dollars, you would put it in the liabilities part and you should also incorporate that money to the assets in bank accounts, because it is money that you will have available in that bank account.

Surely you are wondering why the elements of liabilities to assets or capital to assets are repeated. Remember, in the end these sums of money translate into liquidity so that your business can operate.

In fact, something very important that you must take into account when reading a balance sheet is that the sum of the liability + the capital must be equivalent to the total of the assets.

Here at Prickly Pear we have a professional team that will identify any growth opportunities for your business, we help you consolidate your business ideas.

Which trees have the best potential to withstand a big storm?

Although they appear fragile, palms are more resistant compared to broadleaf trees and other conifers such as pines.

When the hurricane hits land, it comes with floods, strong winds and devastating waves, rain and water take over the streets. Flying houses are beginning to be seen and large trees are falling from the force of the storm, but the palm trees are standing firm.

The structure of palm trees works in a similar way to buildings designed against earthquakes. It is not a matter of seeking greater stiffness to counteract tremors or strong winds, but rather of absorbing energy through elasticity.

Trees are masters of engineering – Mother Nature really does have a grip on things, and this is especially true with the tall, slender members of the botanical family Arecaceae. Experts explain that palm trees have three distinctive characteristics that help them survive the punishing conditions of hurricanes and cyclones, and even tsunamis.

Protect the health of you trees and vegetation with our superior mulching services in Perth. Here at Perth Tree Services we’ll be happy to assist you.

Palms have quite dense roots

They sacrifice size for quantity. Instead of a few large roots anchored in the ground, palms produce a multitude of smaller roots that extend into the upper layers of the soil, as opposed to having only a few very strong roots. This is especially helpful when growing in sand. By increasing the amount of roots they deposit, palms can cling to a greater volume of soil and therefore have a much heavier base. This keeps them unemployed in all but the worst conditions.

A tangled log

The trunk of a pine or oak grows in a radial pattern; Annual rings effectively form a series of hollow cylinders one inside the other. Meanwhile, the stem of a palm tree is made of many small bundles of woody material, which experts likens to bundles of wires inside a telephone cable. Experts say:

Cylinder focus provides great weight bearing strength (compressive strength) which means that an oak trunk can support a heavy weight of branches, but limited flexibility compared to beam focus, which allows the Palm stem will bend at 40 or 50 degrees without breaking.

Palm trees break in extreme conditions, but are much tougher in this regard than other trees.

To better understand the adaptations of the palm, its place in the evolutionary tree must first be considered. Palms are monocots and have more in common with grasses than with trees such as oaks or pines. Its wood evolved independently of other tree species. Take a look at a palm stump. Instead of rings, you will see a dense structure of straws that resemble the cross section of a telephone wire. This is because palms do not produce secondary xylem tissues that give the trees their rings. This makes them much more flexible than their dicot neighbors. While oak and maple forests are very good at supporting a lot of branching, it is considerably stiffer than that of palms. Palms forgo heavy branches for large leaves and therefore invest more in flexibility.

Very smart leaves

Although most trees depend on their beautiful canopy of branches, twigs, and leaves to spread out and absorb as much sunlight as possible, the canopy can also absorb a lot of wind and water. In a big storm, the canopy can act like a ship’s sail and drag the individual; the branches can be easily cut as well as the detachment of the entire canopy.

In the meantime, think of a palm tree. They don’t have widely spreading branches, but rather huge leaves with a flexible, central spine, like huge feathers, Metcalfe notes. In good weather, the fronds spread out and form a thin canopy, but in cases of strong wind and water … what do the fronds do? Bend! With less resistance against the elements, they are much more likely to pass through intact. Of course, some leaves can suffer and palm debris is part of the storm cleanup, but as Metcalfe writes of lost leaves, ‘they are much’ cheaper ‘to replace the palm than a full canopy of branches.

Of course, these are pretty broad generalizations. Not all palms have evolved in response to such punitive weather events. Research has shown that such adaptations are more prevalent in palms growing in places like the Caribbean than in palms growing in the rainforests of South America. Still, its phylogenetic history has stood the test of time and will continue to do so for quite a while longer.

Pruning

Pruning is an important section in the care of plants, trees and shrubs as it helps them stay strong and alive, and favors their development. The important thing is to know what is the most appropriate and recommended pruning technique and the time to do it.

We can find 4 types of pruning: cleaning, training, maintenance and renewal.

Cleaning pruning: its main objective is the elimination of elements and formations that are not desirable in the plants, trees and shrubs. Therefore, branches or parts of plants that are dead, dry, diseased or damaged are removed. Branches poorly oriented or entangling the crown; root, neck or trunk sprouts of the foot. It is important to bear in mind that this type of pruning is necessary for all types of plants or trees and can be done at any time of the year. They should be an ongoing habit as they are an essential part of normal garden maintenance.

Training pruning: its main objective is to achieve a certain shape of the plant or fruit tree.

Maintenance pruning: its main objective is to keep non-fruit plant species in good condition, as well as to maintain plant shapes.

Renewal or rejuvenation pruning: its main objective is to remove aging parts or elements from the tree or shrub, to replace them with new and younger ones.

To prune you have to make clean cuts, so we must use cutting tools such as one-handed pruning shears or hammer scissors, which are longer and can be used with both hands. Later we must protect the pruning cuts to prevent the entry of fungi and diseases into the plant. To protect pruning cuts, injuries caused by hail, frost, broken branches in trees and shrubs. Here at Perth Tree Services we help you protect the health of nearby trees and vegetation with our superior mulching services in Perth.

Ultimate guide to make an excellent poster

Posters are one of the oldest, most tested, and most trusted types of content marketing for:

Posters are often so diverse that they can be designed for a website, print, or both. In fact, you can make them as creative or classic as you want. The possibilities are truly endless.

Here at Morning Star Press we take pride in helping Australian businesses have top catalogue printing with vivid colours that call the attention of customers and new-comers while providing a professional and reliable image

  1. Identify the purpose of your poster

The choices for your poster design depend on the goal you want to achieve with it. Text, visuals, color palettes, and page size should be selected with the goal of your poster in mind.

Before designing your poster, think about:

  • What is the main message you want to communicate with your poster?
  • What is the emotion that your poster transmits?
  • Where will your poster be shared?

For example, if your goal is for people to attend a conference, then you should strategically design your poster to help you meet this goal. A rule of written communication is: simplicity always wins.

The design highlights the key information that attendees need to know through a professional and elegant style:

  • Yellow contrasts with blue, emphasising the time, venue, and featured speakers (information that is likely to catch the attention of attendees).
  • The name of the conference is also written in larger text.
  • The title is followed by a short description about the conference.
  • The background image reflects the theme of a team working together to achieve a vision.

The goal of this poster is to inform qualified candidates about the open position. And fortunately, have them call the number and apply to the company:

The “We’re Hiring” title of this poster is larger than the rest of the text, it also includes an attractive icon.

Open positions are listed next to it so readers can quickly look at the poster and see if they apply.

The CTA or call to action, which in this case is calling that number, is highlighted in a single color.

The next section answers the main questions potential candidates may have, without making them read a lot of text.

Start with a goal and plan your poster design from that goal.

  1. Consider your target

Next, you should consider who you are trying to reach with your poster. Answering this question will likely significantly inform your design decisions.

Also, remember that you can make multiple posters that target different buyer personas. You don’t have to use just one for all the people you are targeting.

  1. Decide where you want to share your poster

Think for a moment about where you will share your poster – on your website? On a cork board in a school? Or will you paste it around your city? If you plan to print your poster, there are some basic rules that you must follow.

It is important to decide where you want your poster to be viewed before beginning the design process. This is because, as you will see below, optimising a poster properly for printing is different from doing it for Twitter or Facebook.

Optimise your poster for printing

You probably have an idea where you will share your poster. Wherever you decide to share it can help you make design decisions.

If you are planning to print your poster, there are some basic guidelines that you should keep in mind.

Visualise where you will put your poster

If you decide to place your poster on a wall full of other posters, print it in a much larger size so it can stand out.

If instead, you plan to place it on a relatively empty wall, then print it in a smaller size and place several of them to create more impact:

Select a standard paper size

Unless you want to make a large poster, you probably don’t want to spend your money printing, so print it yourself! Just design your poster to fit a standard ISO A1-A5 press sheet.

The reset magic will also reset the format of your poster so that the content adapts to the new size, if you don’t want to. This simple feature can save you a ton of time, be sure to give it a try.

You are also welcome to manually resize to configure your poster in the traditional way:

Define bleed marks for printing

In print, the term “bleed” or “bleed” is used when you have an image or an object touching the edge of the page. When you design a poster and you have an image that is flush with the edges of the poster, your printer will automatically leave a thin line of white around the edge of the paper.

When your document is indented, it needs to be printed on a larger sheet of paper than the design so that you can later cut it to the desired size.

As with the resize function in the previous section, you can automatically add bleed lines to your poster with a simple click. Just click on the checkbox in the settings section and add the marks automatically:

As you can see in this poster example above, there is now a small white border on your design. This is, as you can guess, the bleed marks!

Optimize your poster to share it on your social networks

When you share a poster on the web there are fewer restrictions than when you print it. And this is an amazing opportunity to do something fun with your design. Although of course, there are some guidelines that you must follow.

If you want your poster to look great on social media, set the dimensions for the specific platform where you’re promoting it. Maybe you want to create a couple of different versions of your poster for different platforms.

In general, a portrait orientation makes your poster look better on mobile, as people tend to scroll up and down on it rather than side to side.

These are the dimensions for each of the largest social networks:

  • Facebook: 1200 x 628, or 1200 x 1200 per frame
  • Twitter: 1024 x 512
  • Instagram: 1080 x 1080, or 1080 x 1350 for portrait
  • Pinterest: You have a bit more options to work with, but try to use a ratio of 2: 3 to 1: 3.5.

If you’re promoting your event on Twitter or Facebook, banners generally fit better at the start. If that’s the case, horizontal orientation would be fine.

If you are looking a leading provider of printing services to help you establish your brand, here at Morning Star Press you will find more than 50 years of combine experiences ensuring you have the best and most solid image in your area of business.

7 common mistakes that damage your furniture and you had not realized it

We have recently fallen into an excess of cleaning and your furniture may be suffering the consequences of this

These cleaning mistakes can damage your furniture.

We know that caring for furniture is complicated, and that with the current health crisis this activity has become indispensable. The problem is that it is not being done in the proper way, either by cleaning the furniture very often, by not cleaning it with the right products or, even, by not knowing the ideal care for each material in the house.

It is likely that you have made one of these mistakes and so far your furniture is in good condition, but you could damage it in the future. Regardless of whether you have to clean wood, metal, fabric or glass, these mistakes can be very damaging.

Here at Brisbane Upholstery we pride ourselves in reupholstering well-made furniture and antiques. If you are looking for experts in upholstery in Brisbane you can be sure our team of professionals will repair, restore and recover your dining suites, wardrobes, chairs and all types of furniture as well.

  1. Improperly applied cleaning product

Applying the products directly can be detrimental to them. It is not advisable to apply the product directly on the surface, much less from a short distance. This will result in over-application and, in addition to being a waste of product, causes scratches and stains on your furniture. We recommend first applying the product on a cloth and then spreading it evenly on the furniture.

  1. Excessive use of products can damage surfaces. Using cleaning products constantly.

You don’t need to use a spray or polish every time you clean your furniture surfaces unless you have found a new stain or scratch that requires a specific cleaning product. It is advisable to remove dust only with a damp cloth and go to cleaning products in emergencies or in specific situations to keep your furniture in excellent condition for as long as possible.

  1. Placing your plants on your furniture can leave stains.

Indoor plants help clean the air in your home, but if you’re not careful they can be a big problem for your furniture and floors. Constant watering is necessary and this can lead to leaks, marks and stains. With more extreme damages, for example, in metallic materials that rust; or on the wood as mold forms. To prevent this from happening, try to buy leak-proof pots or leave your plants outside or in the sink while they absorb the water.

  1. Bottles without instructions.

It is essential to read the instructions for use of the products. Not reading the instructions of the products.

A common problem is not reading instructions before using cleaning products. It is essential that you do a complete reading of the manual before putting them into use so that you are aware of the damage that you can cause with excess or the wrong application of these.

Likewise, keep in mind that each product has a specific use, so it is important to avoid using the same one for all your furniture at all costs. It is also advisable to stay away from universal cleaners as they can often cause staining.

  1. Cleaning tools

Label your cleaning tools depending on the area in which you use them. Use the same duster or cloth.

Another big common mistake is using the same cleaning tools equally on all of your surfaces. This can damage your furniture as it transfers dirt and bacteria from one piece of furniture to another and can damage the finish, the enamel and even the color. It is understandable that it is a bit complicated to remember which cloth or duster was the right one for each product and surface, so we recommend labeling them or coordinating them by color to make cleaning a little easier.

  1. Homemade cleaning products

Home remedies can be counterproductive. Clean with home remedies. We have all heard of a home remedy to remove a difficult stain from an armchair or to restore the shine to a wooden furniture. However, it is advisable to stay away from these tips as much as possible because they can irreparably damage them. An example of these myths is that varsol can be used to remove stains from furniture and fabrics, but this is completely false. Other common rumors are that tiner and acetone can still remove tough stains, but all these two are going to do is leave a bigger stain and weaken your fabrics.

  1. Constant cleaning can damage the natural materials in your furniture.

Over-cleaning your furniture. It’s understandable wanting to keep your spaces as clean as possible, especially with this health crisis. But this excess cleaning can be the worst nightmare for your furniture, especially if it is natural materials such as wood, textiles and leather. You have to find a middle point in which the spaces are well disinfected but our furniture does not suffer, so you have to know well the materials you have in the home, for example leather can develop a shiny and natural protective layer as it ages, and cleaning will interrupt this process.

We must be aware of how we clean our homes to keep them in the best possible condition, especially now that we spend more time at home.

When a piece of furniture needs attention, it shows. Food stains and watermarks leave evidence on a table, the textiles on chairs and armchairs become discolored and dirty over the years, and so on.

Cleaning furniture is simple, but doing it the wrong way can damage the furniture in your home. The key is to start with the mildest cleaners, work with stronger solutions as needed, and test in inconspicuous areas, such as the inside of a table leg, before tackling large areas.

Try a simple cleaner first: moisten a cotton ball with water, add a drop of dishwashing liquid, and try. If the finish survives, prepare a solution of water and detergent and clean the entire piece. For wood, keep the sponge slightly damp and rinse frequently.

In general, cleaning your furniture can be done in the same way, but there are some that require specific cleaning.

Here at Brisbane Terminator we will provide you with the services you need to keep your building or house free from moths.

Swollen feet and legs in the elderly

Swelling in the ankles, feet and legs is a common problem in the elderly. It is very important to pay special attention to this condition, as it can mean serious health problems.

Here at Happy Feet Pedorthics we can help you find the best option for you, we’ll assist you in the selection of shoes for your daily routine. Measuring your feet is the first step in order to make your new shoes fit accurately.

Causes of swollen feet and legs

Many seniors experience painless swelling in the feet, ankles, and legs. This is usually caused by an abnormal accumulation of fluids in the area or poor blood circulation.

Circulation problems lead to blood not flowing properly and accumulating in the lower extremities, causing swelling and increasing the possibility of a heart attack.

At a certain age, the lymphatic system also loses its faculties, which can cause fluid retention in the lower body and in the abdominal area.

Swelling of the feet and legs in the elderly: Why?

It is common for leg swelling to occur in older people, since they usually meet the main causes of this:

  • Venous insufficiency due to advanced age
  • Kidney, heart, or liver disease
  • Use of certain medications such as antidepressants or blood pressure regulators
  • Bad nutrition
  • Sedentary life
  • Overweight
  • Habitual and acute constipation
  • Menopause

Meaning of swollen feet and legs in older people

Swelling in the lower extremities can be an important indicator of serious health problems for our elders. It is very important to consult the doctor when we observe this condition in the patient.

Main symptoms of swollen legs in the elderly

Swelling in the feet and legs is a condition that affects the well-being of the elderly and prevents them from carrying out normal day-to-day tasks.

The main symptoms associated with swollen legs syndrome are:

  • Swelling in the lower extremities: ankles, knees, feet and legs
  • Swelling increases late in the day
  • Tiredness and fatigue
  • Feeling of heaviness
  • Itching, tingling, and leg cramps
  • Appearance of varicose veins
  • Red and tender legs

Care to avoid swollen legs in the elderly

If we help the elderly to adopt a series of healthy habits we can reduce the effects of swelling in the lower extremities:

  • Don’t cross your legs
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing
  • Avoid tight clothing
  • Sleep resting your feet on a cushion
  • Avoid direct heat to the lower extremities
  • When it is inevitable that the patient spends a long time sitting, we must place their legs up or on a footrest
  • When sitting, it is very important to move your ankles and toes from time to time.
  • Shower the patient with lukewarm water and finish with water that is colder than normal, starting at the ankle and ending with the thigh (repeat several times)

At the end of the day, apply a massage from the feet to the thighs with a cold gel and exerting slight pressure to promote blood flow

Tips for caring for older people with swollen legs

Diet and physical exercise play a very important role in our state of health. Older people who suffer from swelling in the lower extremities must take good care of their diet and perform a minimum of physical activity, in order to reduce fluid retention and avoid poor blood circulation.

Nutritional tips for swelling legs in the elderly

  • Increase the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Wholegrain rice, pasta and bread, in order to promote intestinal transit and avoid constipation
  • Avoid salt in excess
  • Avoid cooking fried
  • Use spices and aromatic herbs to enrich the flavor of dishes
  • Avoid cold cuts, pre-cooked dishes, fatty cheeses, bouillon cubes, bagged potatoes
  • Increase the consumption of asparagus, artichoke, pineapple or endive
  • Drink between 1.5 and 2 liters of water a day
  • Increase the consumption of legumes, wheat germ, natural nuts, bananas, among other foods with potassium

Physical exercise for swelling legs in older people

Swimming, cycling, yoga, and Pilates are physical activities that help prevent swelling in the lower extremities. Still, we must always be aware of the physical possibilities of the patient.

A simple walk at a moderate pace for 30 minutes a day can be very favorable to avoid fluid retention and improve blood circulation. It is crucial to avoid sports that involve standing for a long time and without moving (golf, ping pong …)

We can also find exercises with less intensity to alleviate the condition of swelling in the feet, ankles and legs:

  • Walk changing the point of support; from toes to heels
  • Move the legs as if the patient were on a bicycle while sitting
  • Tiptoe
  • Do squats (if there are no knee problems)

Burning feet syndrome

Grierson-Gopalan syndrome or burning feet causes an intense sensation of heat, tingling or stinging in these extremities, especially at night. Know its causes and the most indicated treatment to alleviate it.

Having hot feet at night may seem like a banality, but those who suffer from Grierson-Gopalan syndrome, popularly known as burning feet syndrome, know well that it is something very serious. In these people, the burning sensation on the soles of the feet is such that it prevents them from sleeping, and the patient is forced to get them out of bed and put them on the cold floor to experience some relief. Sometimes, in addition to experiencing that fire, you may also notice a nagging sensation of pricks or needles digging into your feet.

Symptoms of burning feet syndrome

One of the peculiarities of this disorder is that the symptoms are that it gets worse at night and usually improve during the day. Its most common manifestations are:

Feeling of heat or burning in the feet

Usually, it is perceived only on the soles of the feet, but it can also be noticed on the back, ankles and on the back of the leg.

Tingling feet

Some patients describe a “tingling or ‘needle stick’ sensation in the lower extremities,” he explains.

Causes of burning sensation in feet

The causes of this condition are various, although its origin is often unknown. It can occur as an isolated symptom, or as part of a group of symptoms associated with different pathologies, although it is usually related to one of these problems:

Lack of B vitamins

It has been attributed to deficiencies in different vitamins, especially riboflavin (vitamin B2), but also nicotinic acid (vitamin B3), thiamine (vitamin B1) and pyridoxine (B6). The doctor explains that the lack of these group B vitamins leads to alterations in the cellular metabolism of the tissues, which can cause abnormal and excessive stimulation, or decrease the pain threshold of the peripheral nerve.

Peripheral neuropathy

Burning feet syndrome is thought to be the initial stage of neuropathy that manifests itself when vitamin B12 is deficient, before neurological symptoms appear.

Poor absorption of nutrients

Some diseases cause the malabsorption of these nutrients in the small intestine, such as chronic alcoholism, malabsorption syndrome, or malnutrition.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome

The posterior tibial nerve passes through an area near the heel and the sole of the foot, called the tarsal tunnel. When that nerve is compressed, due to inflammation or other causes, it can cause a burning sensation, tingling.

Common problems about laminated floors -Why does the parquet flooring lift up?

By lifting the parquet, we understand the fact that the material grows horizontally on the surface until it collides with the wall, the door pre-frame or other obstacle. If it grows too much, after colliding, the first thing you notice is that it forms one or more mounds that, when stepped on, normally give way (although sometimes not, especially if it is solid wood) and, when you stop stepping on, it returns to get up.

When this happens to us, the truth is that we get a feeling of doubt and anguish but, above all, we must remain calm.

Find more information about hardwood floors and how we can help you have the best flooring at home. This is Walk on Wood, the right place to seek superior hardwood floors.

Why is this happening?

Parquet can rise for many reasons, the most frequent being the following:

  • Water leak from a pipe. We must observe if a puddle of water or a wet area is visible with the naked eye. Many times, the source of humidity is hidden behind the skirting board or even under the parquet.
  • Poorly sealed balcony or terrace windows. If we look at the outside of the windows, it is just its perimeter, it must have a cord normally made of silicone or other material, covering any cracks. We must observe that it does not present any pores or cracks.
  • Spill from a bucket or leak from an appliance. In this case, all we can do is quickly pick up the puddle of water with the mop. Many times, if the water does not remain on the parquet for long, nothing happens.
  • Failures in the waterproofing in the foundations of the construction or nonexistence of it. It is very typical today to find works that have not been properly waterproofed. We can observe this fact because the house smells musty, especially in rainy seasons, and we see spots of humidity that rise from the ground to a certain height of the wall. Here not only the parquet suffers, if not the doors, furniture, walls, … etc. The solution is a bit complicated, but the responsibility falls on the architect and the builder.
  • Failures in the waterproofing of ceilings or walls. We must solve this before fixing the parquet.
  • Excessively humid environment. We already saw in the post “Recommendations to take into account with wooden floors” that the relative humidity of the house must be kept at an adequate level. In the rainy season or if we are absent for a long time in winter and leave the house closed, humidity increases and swelling phenomena can occur. A dehumidifier, air conditioning or heating can help us eliminate excess humidity.

As we can see, almost all the occasions in which the parquet rises, it is due to either water or excessive humidity. On very few occasions we have found that it is the fault of a bad assembly, especially if it has been assembled by a professional or specialized company. If we have had cases in which an amateur assembler has not read the technical sheet properly or has not respected the basic installation rules that any assembler must take into account.

To avoid unexpected expenses due to a problem related to the damage caused by water (leaks, etc.), we must have a good insurance that covers this type of mishap since, if it occurs, it would take care of everything and we would not have to worry about nothing.

It is very important to know that after a leak occurs that affects the parquet:

  1. First, we have to locate the fault or leak and solve it.
  2. We must wait for the humidity to go away, sometimes it is necessary to remove the affected material to facilitate aeration. This step is very important, we should not run because if we mount before the moisture is eliminated the parquet can be raised again.
  3. Let us advise the professional at all times. Note that the company’s expert is not always an expert on the matter.
  4. Do not despair because there are many parquets (made of wood) on which 30 years pass and they do not have the slightest problem.

Care of wood floors

Without a doubt, parquet is the most elegant and warmest of floors… but many people think twice before installing one because they fear that its maintenance will be very complicated. In reality, the durability and good appearance of a wooden floor depends a lot on the quality of it, however, even the most durable floor requires some care. Experts advise that:

  • Do not buy the right meters of floor, buy some extra so that in case you need to make a minor repair in only one area of the floor, the color of the wood is the same.
  • Surely at the entrance of your house you have a rug, but is it made of stiff bristles? You need one to properly remove the dirt that we bring on our shoes and that could scratch it.
  • The parquet is thinking for us to walk on it… but avoid doing it if you come from the street with wet shoes: you can stain it.
  • Never pass a wet lingo on the parquet, it should be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use special wood cleaning products or the dry shampoo used for upholstery and carpets.
  • For maintenance and to revive its shine, once a year a professional should pass a polishing machine on the floor.
  • You also have to wax it at least twice a year. This does not have to be done by the professional.
  • Do you live in a very dry place? Then place a humidifier in the areas where you have parquet. The recommended ambient humidity is between 35% and 65%.
  • If the floor gets wet, dry it immediately: water can seep between the wood and the floor, damaging it. A tip: if you notice that the liquid has been filtered, after drying with a cloth, use a hair dryer that is not very hot to evaporate the water.

Bumps that cause sinking

Most think that protecting with plastic, blankets or cardboard is enough. Believe us when we tell you that plastics do nothing; Moreover, if it is a varnished parquet and we have not allowed the varnish to set enough, we may have problems. The blankets and cardboard, although it seems that they cushion, in most cases, large debris are not supported and mark as can be seen in the photos. Other times, pebbles get underneath and scratch without us noticing. Many others, with the false belief that “it is protected”, they even place scaffolding without any protection on the legs.

The result is annoyances for the property, for us as installers and, in the end, someone will have to pay to repair those damn scratches, sags and pecks. We do not have to come to that, and we will never tire of saying that “rush is bad counselor” and we must be the last; it is not whim, but the result of experience.

There are a series of general precautions that we must follow before starting the installation of parquet, parquet or laminate flooring:

  1. The masonry, plumbing, painting, plasterwork … etc., must be completely finished. After painting, it is necessary to wait a few days (depending on the weather conditions) before putting the material in the work, as the walls are giving off moisture.
  2. The openings of the work must be properly closed and glazed to prevent the entry of rainwater, humidity, direct solar radiation … etc.
  3. If the base on which we are going to place the parquet is mortar, we must respect the drying time that the distributor advises us; This is very important because, even if the surface layer is dry after a few days, the mortar continues to dry in its lower layers and transmits a large amount of moisture to the surface. If we lay the parquet without waiting long enough, the parquet will absorb moisture and unwanted lifting and deformation will occur. It is highly recommended to measure this humidity with a device designed for this purpose (hygrometer).
  4. The maximum moisture content of the mortar should not exceed, as a general rule, 2.5% moisture by weight. Depending on the type of mortar and / or if there is radiant heating, this could vary.
  5. All installations and water lines must be tested, including heaters.
  6. The slab must be clean and not uneven.
  7. It is essential to check the relative humidity of the room before installation. It is advised that it is below 65%.

Cleaning the parquet after doing works

It is usually the case of finishing installing a parquet or laminate floor and that the client asks us how to clean the parquet after doing works, so we are going to give certain keys to leave the new floor clean after the usual dirt of a work.

Just as you trust experts when it comes to installing your parquet, trust experts when it comes to cleaning and caring for your parquet. You can buy the best cleaning products for parquets and laminates in our online store.

In a parquet or laminate installation, and especially in a comprehensive reform, it is very normal that there are traces of dust and dirt, stains from the works carried out such as paint, wall dust and sawdust remain from the cutting of the wood. The ideal and most advisable thing would be to hire a cleaning team that takes care of everything, but this represents an added expense that perhaps not everyone wants or can add to the cost of the work carried out, which although it is true that there are renovation companies including it in their budgets is rarely usual.

And this option is not viable if the work is minor and you continue to live at home while the work is being done, since you will have to clean every day at the end of the day to be able to live together at night in the most normal way possible. So, there is only the option of doing it each one, with patience and good products.

Sweep and sweep again

It is completely normal, during the work a dust is generated that remains in suspension in the air and that little by little it settles on the ground. When sweeping with a normal broom, this dust is removed, which remains in the air and settles again on the ground. The best thing is a first sweep to remove large garbage, such as construction debris, rubble, pieces of wood… And when only the dust is settling, forget about the broom and move on to the next option.

Sweeping the parquet

A good vacuum cleaner, your best helper

After sweeping and removing the fat, it is best to have a good vacuum cleaner, thus avoiding raising that dust and settling it again. In the case of the walls, you can use a duster, a mop or the broom, to make the dust fall to the ground and vacuum it later. Keep in mind that it is important to empty the vacuum cleaner often and clean the filters, since it is a very fine powder that sticks easily.

One trick to maximise vacuum cleaning is to put a damp cloth on the head while vacuuming. In addition to collecting all the dust, being damp the cloth takes away the finest and stickiest dust that the normal vacuum cleaner cannot remove.

At this stage we do not recommend using a robot vacuum cleaner, since it is not designed for so much dust. Once the house is clean then it can be used.

Scrub yes, but with special products

To the famous question of whether you can scrub the parquet or lick it, the answer is yes, after running the vacuum cleaner and making sure that there are no remains of work on the floor, since if we drag them with the mop it can scratch. As always, we recommend that you scrub with the mop well wrung out, and with specific products for parquet or laminate, such as a solution cleaner, suitable for both varnished and synthetic floors, and capable of removing all types of stains.

Scrubbing the parquet

With these tips, it is certain that cleaning the parquet after doing works is more effective and easier, and you will get to have the parquet clean and shiny after the work and installation, and from that moment on, daily cleaning will be much easier. To keep it always clean, it is best to use a mop, and here our Bona Spray Mop is undoubtedly the best, thanks to its simple and practical way of use and its cleaning liquid specially developed for parquet or laminate floors.
