Keeping these things in mind will increase the chances of giving proper assistance to the victim. On the other hand, letting panic rule the situation can trigger awful mistakes that can even change the situation completely. Ending the School Year on a High

school year

Being once a high school student, one of the schooling events that was pretty much looked forward to by students was the school formal. At my high school, the year 12s had an end of year formal the night after graduation. Our graduation and formal was held after all our exams were completed. It was a time for celebration after a long, hard 13 years of schooling. After countless of all-nighters, cramming in last minute assignments and studying for tests and exams, our formal was a way to celebrate and let our hair loose school year.

I remember months leading up to the year 12 formal, it was the topic on everyone’s tongues. All the girls would talk about the perfect dress, hair, makeup and accessories… and of course their perfect date. Just like in teenage movies, when the boy would ask the girl to be his formal date, that’s what we would fantasise about. Waiting for our crush to ask us to the formal or plucking up the courage to ask the guy ourselves. Every recess and lunch break, the topic of our formal would somehow come up. A couple of months before the formal my friends and I decided to go formal dress shopping. None of us had our dresses then and we didn’t really know what kind of dress we wanted.
