Many questions and doubts about fake eyelashes are constantly coming up regarding the benefits and limitations they offer. Here at Tigress Beauty you will find top vegan eyelashes that can complete your outfit perfectly and provide you with that doll-eyed look for any special occasions.

Allergic reactions to a fake eyelash

A minimum percentage of clients turn out to be allergic to a fake eyelash is because of its glue. It can produce a little swelling and itching while we are putting them or after a few hours of putting them on. We must bear in mind that sensitivity, itching and irritation can occur because of many factors and in different situations. For example, also in manicures (for enamel), in facial cleansing (for some cream), in hair treatments (for some dye or even shampoo) etc.

With this we want to clarify that there are many natural substances, and other chemicals to which we can commonly be allergic. An allergic reaction occurs when our body detects a body or foreign substance in it and identifies it as dangerous.

The most important thing is that the glue should NEVER touch the skin. It is very strange that the vapours of the glue can produce an allergic reaction, what could happen is that this reaction is caused by any other substance that is in contact with the skin, such as, for example, the patches, the primer or the tape. This happens because the skin under our eyes is the thinnest skin of our entire body.

Is rest necessary?

This is one of the most common questions in this sector. People consider that after 3 refills should take a break and apply some type of serum to renew the tab.

But why? An incorrect application of a fake eyelash can cause the premature fall of the natural eyelash but a correct application does not have to damage anything the natural eyelashes.

Bad routines for our eyelashes

Use eyelash curler daily: we constantly press the eyelash and when we release the curler, many times, we pull some eyelash that was not in the fall phase (telogen), therefore some baldness is generated.

Too many mask layers: we believe that by applying many layers of mascara our lashes will look longer and thicker, but in the long run it does the opposite. By forming the mascara gobs, the eyelash that is growing cannot grow in a good direction.

Do not remove make-up: Removing make-up is very important, at the end of the day you have to remove all the makeup remains from our eyelash. This will help us a lot, since, in this way, the follicle of the eyelash will be clean and healthy for much longer. Leaving the mascara at night, and not removing make-up, can affect the life cycle of our eyelash.

Putting on your fake lashes

The right way to put on some fake lashes is that they should have a unique union with the natural eyelash (in this article we told you how to achieve a perfect union between natural eyelashes and false eyelashes) so that its cycle was normal and healthy. The natural life of the eyelash, going through the three phases (anagen, catagen and telogen) is between 60 and 75 days.

This information helps us understand (and make our clients understand) that eyelashes are renewed. It is normal to lose between 1 and 3 tabs per day, but there may be days that we do not lose any and another day we lose 4. This will happen to us having fake lashes or not.

It is important to always place a suitable length and thickness on the natural flange, so that the false eyelash does not pull it.

If you, as a professional, ever need to tell a customer that they need to rest, it is because:

  • You have placed false eyelashes too thick or too long for the eyelash and they are hindering the growth cycle of the natural eyelash. This can cause alopecia or hair follicle disorder.
  • You are separating badly the natural eyelashes and when placing the false tab, it is united to more than one eyelash. As the tabs to which the false eyelash has been attached will have different ages, one will fall before causing the remaining tab to support the weight of the false eyelash plus the fallen tab. This will cause a premature fall of the natural flange.
  • You are making a volume with fans that are too big and too heavy for your eyelash, so (going back to the first option), it is not an appropriate weight for your eyelash and it will fall before you need it.

Eye infections caused by false eyelashes

It is very common to see photos on the internet about eye infections produced when a person is using a false eyelash, but there is information that we should know first.

You have to explain to the client that water is not an enemy a false eyelash. You have to wash and brush them daily to keep them clean. This is not going to make our false lashes fall but last longer. We can find many eyelash cleansers in the market, but the most popular today are cleaning foams.

It is necessary to remove all oily substances from our skin, be it makeup, mascara or even the own fat of our skin to maintain the union between the false eyelash and the real one in a perfect state.

That’s why we have to make our clients responsible for cleaning them and explain how they can in just 5 minutes maintain a spectacular look.
